Now This Really Stinks...!
I'm thinking that the folks in Milwaukee really need to get out more!
If this is the best that they can come up with for entertainment during the Winter months, then maybe they should be getting a new museum director.
Personally, I don't think I would enjoy a trip in the snow, just to go downtown and look at plant which has as it's only claim to fame is the fact that it smells like decaying flesh!
See what you think!
Corpse flower to bloom at Milwaukee museum

A nearly 7-foot-tall exotic plant will soon stink up the Milwaukee Public Museum.
A titan arum plant, also known as a "corpse flower," is preparing to flower. Museum curator of botany Neil Luebke expects it to occur within the next two weeks.
The flower is known for its odor of rotting flesh. It comes in waves and attracts carrion beetles and sweat bees in its native rain forests of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
The titan arum is technically the world's largest unbranched cluster of flowers.
It takes at least six years to flower and is a descendent of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's flower.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather stay at home and smell the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread...but that's just me!
Now, let's have some fresh coffee and sit outside for a bit...and NO, that smell is NOT me, thank you very much!

I agree.
Good Morning My Special One,
Well I don't know what all the stink is about. Sorry just had to say that. I know I for one would not be bothered going to see that or smell it. Like you I would rather smell your fresh baking bread and brewing coffee.
Time for me to hit the road just have to pack in a few more items and I am off.
Hey Momlady...
Glad you agree! Thanks for coming by today!
Hey JoJo...
I hope you have a good trip, enjoy some good weather, and get some wonderful peace and quiet!
Wish I was going somewhere different for a bit!
See ya when you get back, sweetie!
Thanks for the visit today!
Geesh!! I don't know what to say about this except... That's crazy! The biology lab is down the hall from me and sometimes there are some interesting odors coming from there. That's usually when I head out for a break. Yuck!!!
Hey Ginger...
Funny thing is...I had heard about this plant on an episode of CSI before, but don't think I ever want to be around one!
Damn sure ain't raising one as a house plant!
Thanks for the visit, my friend!
Well, me being me, I had to google the plant to see what it looked like exactly.
The flower is umm...well let's just rather interesting looking. ;)
Would I go to see it in person, probably not. Not unless they provided me with a gas mask.
Thanks for the info, Uncle Hermit. I always learn something new and interesting when I come by for a cup of coffee. :D
Hugs~n~Smiles

Hey Felinae...
First of all, let me say that I LOVE seeing your picture! Pretty little thing, aren't ya?
Now, on the "corpse plant" and the viewing there of...I do believe that it is something I can do without!
There are enough foul smelling things around this town (starting with the politics) to keep me occupied for a while!
I need to move to the country where there is some fresher air, and the only dead things I may smell is road kill!
Thanks for the visit!
And I thought my farts smelled bad. Yuk.
See Ya
As a former gardener I think that would be great to see :-) :-) But if one wants a flower that smells like rotten flesh there are easier and smaller species to get :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hey Tony...
Guess you could get on of these to keep in the an! It would cover up all the tell-tale odors, I'll bet!
Thanks for coming by, buddy!
Hey Christer...
I'm just not sure I want any of this type of plant around my house anywhere!
Maybe I'll have to settle for a picture of them...
Thanks for dropping in, my friend!
I can think of better choices for a house plant, if I were into that sort of thing. :)
Hey Bob...
I can certainly go along with that! Not a thing I want to have around!
hey, thanks for coming by!
I've never heard of this plant before, but some things are probably better left where they came from. lol. The things that amuse some people. I dunno.
