I'm thinking this would certainly be one way to get your morning work-out!
If nothing else, it would make for a good way to get your juices flowing! I can just see it now...one fool trying to chop the head off of a neighbor! One of the scariest parts of this whole story is the fact that both of these guys had such ready access to swords and machetes!
Looks to me like these boys are going all medieval on one another! A nice change of pace from guns, to say the least!
Collision prompts Sunnyside sword fight
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — A hit-and-run collision Wednesday followed by a brief sword fight led police to arrest a 25-year-old man for assault.
About 4 p.m., the Sunnyside man spotted a 27-year-old rival and intentionally rammed his 1981 Ford F-150 pickup into the man’s vehicle as he backed out of his driveway in the 100 block of South 11th Street, said Charlotte Hinderlider, Sunnyside police spokeswoman.
The alleged assailant brandished a sword, swinging it at his enemy, who had climbed out of his own vehicle, Hinderlider said.
The suspect fell, giving the victim time to pick up a machete that happened to be laying in his yard and defend himself from his alleged attacker, Hinderlider said. Meanwhile, the victim’s mother, still in the vehicle, dialed 9-1-1 from her cellular phone.
After minutes at most, the attacker left in his truck and police caught up with him at a house several blocks away in the 1400 block of South Sixth Street, Hinderlider said. No injuries were reported.
Hinderlider said the two men had a long-running feud but its origin was unclear. She also said the victim may have been using the machete to whack away some of the shrubs in his yard.
Police plan to ask prosecutors for charges of first-degree assault for the sword attack and two counts of second-degree assault for the crash.

Looks like a hard way to get the neighbors attention! I guess the old days of talking out your differences and settling your arguments in a gentlemanly way are long gone, huh?
Well, let's get some fresh coffee and sit in the kitchen for a bit. Please check your swords at the door!

Oh man....too many late night Kung Fu movies coupled with Four-Loko.
Hey Catman...
Whatever this ol' boy was drinking, it sure did mess with his head!
Of course, he probably was messed up already! How the hell do these folks manage to stay alive this long?
Hey, thanks for coming by today, buddy!
That is unreal. Funny in a way though. Good thing nobody got killed.
Fighting with your fists ending a long time ago, and guns took their place. Well I guess this is the new weapon of choice. What bothers me is it said the other guys weapon was laying in his yard. He must have been practicing just before he was leaving. Nice place to store a weapon for some kid to pick up.
I will join in for this cup of coffee.
Wow, I have relatives that live in that city in far southeast Washington State. Hard to believe two guys decided to go 'medieval' just like that and start hacking at each other like Vikings. Maybe that bank commercial just gave them ideas?
Dunno, but file that under strange. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to hear legislation banning 'assault swords' . . .
Hey Rae...
Guess it's just a sign of the times! At least no one was hurt, especially the one drivers Mom!
Gotta wonder just what the world is coming to sometimes!
Thanks, Rae, for coming by today!
Hey JoJo...
Does sort of make you wonder how these two were able to lay their hands on such weapons so fast!
Makes me feel as though I've missed something in the news...like maybe an outbreak of a "crazy virus" or something!
Guess I better get me a shotgun, since I don't have a sword!
Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!
Hey Anon 7:21...
Guess they will now create another agency in DC to handle this behaviour. Have to call it the " Medieval Attack Division" or MAD for short!
Can't figure out what drives this type, but they are dangerous and probably reproduce as well!
Scary! Hey, thanks for coming by today!
I'm sure you know from my blogs that we go walk around flea markets a lot. Well, there are always a lot of booths didicated to swords, knives, and other really scarry looking stuff. I didn't think some of that stuff was legal. Sure makes a guy think and then keep his gun handy (grin).
Sounds like a really class neighborhood. I wonder if they have block parties and meet your neighbor get togethers. Thanks for the story and have a great friday.
It is odd, but what I found the most reprehensible was that he was leaving his tools laying around the yard to rot. Of course in this case it worked out for him.
Hey Dizzy...
I think the sole purpose of much of this stuff is to scare folks! At leawst, I do hope that's what they are trying to do! Hate to think someone would actually use these weapons on people!
Keeping a gun handy sounds better all the time!
Thanks for coming by today, buddy!
Hey Mechanic...
I'm thinking that I don't want to attend a block party in that neighborhood! Meeting your neighbor might mean to know your next target! Who knows?
Let's hope they can work things out without cutting each other up!
Thanks for dropping by today!
Hey Russell...
Maybe he wasn't just leaving the machete laying around, but rather had it stashed, just for such an emergency as this!
Whatever the reason, it seems to have worked!
Thanks for the visit today!
...those who say the pen is mightier than the sword, never faced one i bet...anyway,sounds staged, two clowns wanting their fifteen minutes of fame (?)
Hey Ken...
Staged or not, I don't want to hang with these guys! Too much drama in their lives!
Believe I'll stick with pistols at 25 paces!
Thanks for coming by today!
