We all get together at my Uncles, almost fourty of us last Thanksgiving. Usually come home knowing a lot more gossip about everyone than I ever wanted to. Eat until can't move, then wait a couple hours and do it again with desert.Bob from Athenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14124078025732286371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474304103076898115.post-42776506167106000162011-11-19T09:25:36.819-06:002011-11-19T09:25:36.819-06:00Wish I could edit comments sometimes. Home is where their heart is no matter who they visit and I am sure she loves dearly its still not her home. But I bet she had a great time.
My family is split in half also so I just do what ever with one half and see the other on a fly. I gave up this year totaly on trying to fix the problem since it only seems to have gotten much worse while I was gone. Someday they will regret there stupity just hope it won't be to late for them.JoJonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474304103076898115.post-51785853571737359952011-11-19T07:23:54.886-06:002011-11-19T07:23:54.886-06:00Hope your mom had a great trip.

Perhaps because my grandmother died during that timeframe I noticed immediately that my family began fragmenting. To me, it is not just the lack of family get togethers, it is the total loss of community. I'm at the point where I don't feel that family actually means the same thing that it used to. People sending gift cards to each other for Christmas because they no longer have any idea what the others need or would like to have? No ability to cook for a sick relative? No means to babysit for someone when a busy season of work arrives? No children to help out during the busy season of work? I'm generally a positive guy, but when people talk to me about family in America I have a hard time accepting that they're being realistic about our situation as things have changed so much in the past few decades that the word no longer means the same thing it originally did.

Anyhow, it's nice you took care of your mom's cat. I hope she has a safe flight.Danny Pizdetzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07806253154306137936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474304103076898115.post-47239707788235366162011-11-19T02:29:57.332-06:002011-11-19T02:29:57.332-06:00I think you're right about Thanksgiving get to...I think you're right about Thanksgiving get togethers.
