If you find a sack of money (or anything else) and do the right thing and turn it over to the 'authorities', they don't have to give it back to you. If they don't have an owner for it and it goes unclaimed it gets awarded to that agency. That's the way the law is written.<br /><br />Just something to think about if you want to do the right thing. Money, diamond earings, bracelets lots of other jewelry with diamonds. After a year they think they have found everything and can now put the house on the market.<br />I don't know what these people are thinking when they do this. Who knows how much stuff gets thrown away because it was wrapped in a tissues and stuck in a pocket of an old sweater.<br />Oh well my kids don't have to worry about that kind of stuff. Don't have it.
