Saturday Morning And You Know What That Means...

That's right, boys and girls...Cartoons!

Ever notice when my little bit of mind has gone completely blank, then I use that as an excuse to have cartoons on? That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

My dad always liked road runner cartoons at the drive in theatre, if you remember those. He also liked Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis! In fact, about the only time I ever heard him laugh out loud, was watching Martin and Lewis...

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy this little bit of cartoon history this morning. I know that I did. Pour another cup of coffee, grab some more Cinnamon toast, and let's watch...OK?

Now wasn't that better than me spouting off a bunch of doom and gloom? I mean, it's Easter weekend, right?

Now, let's grab one more cup of coffee and go to the patio table. OK, my friend?

  1. Good morning Jim,
That was good I always loved Saturday morning looney toons, laying around with the kids. and yes Martin & Lewis they were good. Oh the old days. Why can't they make good cartoons anymore and TV shows like that?
I hope it isn't raining out on the patio it sure is here. I was going to go to Lowes, maybe later after a pot of two. :-)
    Have a great day.

  2. Morning Jim,
This sure beats most of the crap on the boob tube. But I have to opt for Brigid's (Home on the Range) bacon cheese biscuits to go with my coffee this morning. Sorry, but they beat cinnamon toast every time with me.:)

  3. Hey JoJo...just grab a good book, sit by the window, and listen to the rain! Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning.
Hey, thanks for coming by this morning, my friend!

Hey YOF...don't blame ya! I'd go for the bacon, cheese biscuits myself over toast!

Really appreciate the visit this morning, my friend!

  11. Hey Tony...when I lived in East Texas just outside of Tyler, there were road runners all over the area. Very cool to watch, but you had to look fast!

    Thanks for the visit today.

Hey Phelan...it is going to be interesting to see if this bill passes. I can smell the reaction from here when the general public gets wind of it.

This could be the straw that does the trick, ya know?

The very term "Department of Peace" sounds like a phrase from "1984" or something used by the Nazis under Hitler. One thing about it...it will be far from peaceful!

  12. Hi Jim...we had a roadrunner outside the office the other day...right in the middle of town! Hope the little feller found his way back to the woods.

    I'm having a doom-free weekend myself!

    Thanks

  13. Hey RV...funny how the wild things show themselves sometimes just to check up on us. It's always satisfying to see something like one of them in their natural state.

Enjoy the weekend, and thanks for coming by!

  14. actually, I'm kinda surprised you didn't go with the one where Bugs gets conned into taking over for the Easter bunny, and runs into the little brat shouting "I want an Easter egg!"

  17. Hey OT...I have to agree about the older cartoons bein more enjoyable. I always thought the sound effects were what made the cartoons.

Now days...it's not good! Hey, thanks for dropping by...

  18. the older ones were also probably most kids only exposure to some of the best classical music;Grieg, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, even Wagner(kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit...).

  19. Hey Shedmaster...you're probably right! Many of the older cartoons (I'm thinking bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry) quite often used the classical music as a background fot the cartoons.

    Hey, thanks for stopping by!
