Sometimes The Good Guys Win...!

Sometimes, in spite of everything...the good guys win one!

Sometimes, it just doesn't pay to be a bad guy...especially a "not too smart" bad guy! But I guess that applies to just about all of them!

Check out this story from The Houston Chronicle...

A Missouri City man turned the tables on three men who tried to rob him during a home invasion this afternoon, shooting one of them several times, police said.

The men drove up to the man's home on Glenwild at Hickory Glen at about 3 p.m. and two of them forced the resident, who as in the driveway, inside, police said.

As the robbers were demanding money, the 20-year-old resident grabbed a pistol and began shooting, police said.

He shot one attacker several times. That man collapsed in the driveway. He was taken by helicopter ambulance to Memorial Hermann hospital in critical condition, officials said.

The other attacker who went into the home fled with the driver of the car.

The resident went to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

Maybe, just maybe...the bad guys are starting to understand that in times like these people are NOT going to just stand by and let someone take what they have by force! Let's hope that the PTB are paying attention to these kinds of stories...because I have a feeling that this is a preview of what may happen when the guys from the dot-gov. agencies show up and want it all!

I could be wrong...but we'll see! Here in the big city, we are seeing more and more of this kind of story. Surprised that it is being reported, but not surprised that it is happening! I expect to hear a lot more like this!

Now, my friends, coffee on the patio seems to be in order! Let's go...!

  1. I hope the PTB start to realize that a man who is armed at home is a partner is keeping crime at bay. Any (thing) that enters my home trying to take what is mine and wants to cause harm to me or family, should be shot by me and then hung out at the front of my property as a warning to anyone else who else would entertain those ideas. Then the news paper should print the photos like they did in the old west when an outlaw was perched up in his coffin.
Sorry I dont feel sorry for peoples teen or adult children who commit such nasty crimes against an innocent family. Is this barbaric? I ask another question, a country who boasts the most advanced society in the world and the greatest power cannot even keep a few hoodlems from getting out of hand in plubicly known PROBLEM HOODS? The PTB need to look at the American People as a partner in keeping them safe. Every one who is able should arm themselves as the founding fathers understood in order to be that partner.

  2. Hey OGT...
I think you're right! We need, as individuals, to take responsibility for our own protection and the protection of our family. Trying to wait for the PTB to do something could get some body killed or injured!

I agree that no mercy should be expected by anyone wanting to invade a home and take what others have worked for.

    Thanks for dropping by!

  3. The sad part is going to be when the guy in the hospital SUES the homeowner.....and I guarantee, it will happen. Modern times,ya know.
Me? I've got a 357 waiting for for whoever tries to take MY stuff. And he WON"T be alive to tell the tale.....
(my ex was a jerk, but he taught me to shoot VERY WELL.....)
    :)

  4. I agree with Sue. If you have to shoot....shoot to kill. That goes for anyone wanting what don't belong to them. Got that nanny?

Time to get out of dodge Jim. Your time in the big city is getting short.

    See Ya

  5. Good Morning My Special One,
Yup this is happening all over the country including this town. Several of these jerks have been killed or injured by the property owners. But it keeps on happening because these idiots learn nothing from the stories. becuase it will never happen to them. My friends are on me to get a small gun to carry in the MH. I may look into that.

  6. I agree with Sue. The only bad part of the story is that they are still alive. But if they were dead, their poor grieving family would sue. Maybe we need to get rid of all the lawyers:)

  7. Hey Sue...
You go, girl! That's what we need...a few more folks that are ready to defend home and family at any cost!

Proud to have you on my side, my friend! Thanks for coming by today!

  8. Good for that young man! I'm all for people defending hearth and home...these things are sacred to me, and I see no reason why ANYONE who so desires shouldn't protect them with any means available.

I won't use a firearm, myself. I know, know...but as I keep pointing out all over the Blue Nowhere, it's pointless to own one if one won't use it...that's just giving the bad guys another weapon. I guess I'd better get practicing with those throwing knives.

Meanwhile, Mister Hermit sir, I saw a story yesterday that may or may not be true, but was oddly nice - seems some thugs hauled a fellow down an alleyway, robbed him, and upon examining their loot learned he was in the military (reservist). They promptly returned his belongings, thanked him for his service, and left him alone.

It's a sad day when muggers take better care of our military personnel than the government they serve does!

  9. Hey Tony...
I think you're right, my friend! Time for me to be somewhere else! I also agree that body mass makes the best target!

Can you say "shotgun?" I knew you could!

    Thanks for the visit, buddy!

    Hey JoJo...
I want you to be protected, sweetie...but do me a favor! If you do get a gun...especially a handgun, then please have someone go with you to the local gun range and get plenty of practice time and get really used to the feel of the weapon!

Just don't want anything to happen to you, ya know?

Thanks for coming by today, darlin'

    Hey Kris...
There is never an easy answer to crime...but home invasion is one of the worst going on now days! At least the cops are pretty much refusing to prosecute the defenders so far! Let's hope that trend continues!

Thanks for coming by today for a cup!

  10. Hey K...
Doesn't matter what you use to defend home and hearth...but what DOES matter is the ability and willingness to use whatever you choose safely and effectively!

Hopefully you'll never need to use anything...but it never hurts to have a plan!

Stay safe, stay warm and stay happy! Thanks for coming by, Lady!

  11. Somebody needs to buy the feller another box or two of ammo and take him to the range. Heck, make that several boxes of ammo. Let him practice to his hearts content.

  12. Hey YOF...
Sounds like a good plan to me! Time on the range or at the gravel pit or pond is never wasted!

Better to have plenty of practice time and hit what you shoot at...in a good place!

Hey, thanks for coming by today!

  13. Keep your eye on the front sight and the front sight on the bad guy.
The front sight is on the end where the bullets come out.
If your front sight is on the smirking, swaggering AIDS-infected scumbag when you fire, it greatly increases the chance that the bullet will hit him.
I can never remembner if it was Hermit Jim or Robert Ruark who said, " Use a big enough gun. A tiger is a 600lb pusssy that eats you."
    It is good advice.

  14. I´m glad he could defend what was his!

But over here I don´t think anything similar will happen. Guns are hard to get here for most people (yet) since our laws are so stricht. Organised crime has them ofcourse but even they don´t spread them around.
    Have a great day now!
    Christer.

  15. Kyddryn, please don't take this as an attack but as a reality check: How can you say, "hearth and home...these things are sacred to me" if you're unwilling to protect them by any legal means necessary?

Honestly, I can't wrap my head around that - being unwilling to protect something you feel is sacred.

  16. Hey Vlad...
Does make it a lot easier, doesn't it? On the saying about the tiger...it wasn't me that said it! Doesn't make it any less true, though!

    Thanks for coming by!

    Hey Christer...
Guess you'll be forced to use rocks, clubs, knives...something along those lines! The ban on firearms lways just affects the law abiding, and NOT the bad guys!

    Hey, thanks for the visit!

  17. I guess Chief Instructor and I read things differently. I don't see where Kyddryn said she is unwilling to protect what is sacred to her.

  18. Guys,

Please remeber this..."you shoot to stop the threat....not to kill!" That can get you into a lot of trouble with a liberal prosecutor and defense attorney suing you. Those of us in law enforcement are taught to shoot to stop the threat! If you follow the same thought pattern of stopping the threat and totality of circumstances and articulate you were in fear of your life...you should be good to go, key words, should be good to go!
