This Is Getting Out Of Hand...!

In my day, you wouldn't have to be forced!

Of course, we would have never thought of NOT standing up during the saying of the pledge! It was something that we just did!

My parents would have quickly pointed out the error of my ways if I had not done so, believe me! Talk about raising a bunch of non-patriotic, whining, flag burning, country hating, worthless sissies!

Better pay attention, folks! These are the future leaders of our once great country! No wonder we are no longer respected as a world leader, when we refuse to even stand for the the Pledge Of Allegiance!

What the Hell were these people thinking?

Sweeny won't force students to stand for Pledge

SWEENY — Students in Sweeny ISD no longer will be required to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance, a change district administrators said legally had to be made.

The announcement on Thursday complies with the deadline of the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas to amend a requirement it said is unconstitutional.

In a letter to the district last week, the ACLU stated courts repeatedly had determined requiring students to stand for the Pledge infringed on their rights.

The ACLU of Texas sent a letter to Sweeny ISD on April 14 in response to complaints that students had been disciplined for not standing during the Pledge, KTRK-Channel 13 reported on Friday.

This story just makes me ashamed that this happened in the once proud state of Texas! Guess we don't have near the backbone I thought we did!

Let's get some fresh coffee and sit outside. I need the fresh air!

  1. If that air ain't so fresh, it ain't the barn you're smellin', but don't feel bad for your state alone, it's that way everywhere.

  2. Standing for the national anthem with your hand over your heart means I love America.

President Obama stands for the national anthem with his hands over his genitals. What message is conveyed?

Gotta admit, that's not a bad idea! Have to be careful not to hurt their feelings or their rights...since they would call a lawyer first thing!

  9. Hi Hermit Jim,

With all due respect, not all who choose to not salute the flag or pledge allegiance are such rotten people as has been described.

There are those who feel it impossible to split their loyalty and they've already pledged theirs to the God they serve and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ whom they feel is the King of the ONLY Kingdom that will solve all of mankind's problems.

They respect the country they live in and would not do anything to harm anyone in it but they literally have spiritual brothers and sisters in every single country in the world and would NEVER do anything to harm them or any innocent person.

They simply respectfully decline to split their loyalty. And frankly, this country has shown clearly that it is NOT "under God". Individuals within may be, but not the nation. Not one country in this world has shown any evidence they follow the King of God's Kingdom.

These ones take to heart Jesus' words: "You cannot serve two masters"

Yes, I'm sure I'll be hit with lot's of negative comments for this post but I feel strongly that our country was based on individual freedom and it works BOTH ways: free to salute and pledge to whom one wants to. Or to RESPECTFULLY to decline to do so.

With all that said, I do not find those whom burn flags, spit on the flag, or attempt to harm others as 'good people'. And that goes for anyone who would burn a bible or any book considered 'holy' by a group.

Part of individual responsibility is to allow others the freedom to work their OWN free will, even if we disagree. No one should be FORCED to worship, salute, pledge, etc to anyone or any country or anything if they do not want to.

Sorry if this rubs people wrong but I see way to much of this group I'm talking about being tortured, jailed, murdered, beaten, and banned for their strong faith in God and for refusing to be forced to pledge their allegiance to a country and for not denying the God they serve. I read reports almost every single day of the out right persecution of this group. And they have not harmed one single person.
