Family Time Is Done...!

I am pleased to say that the family tree is over with and , for the most part, all went well!

Some didn't show, but that wasn't much of a surprise. I'll never understand why some folks commit to going somewhere, and then don't show or call! Very disappointing!

When all was said and done, I think that Mom had a good time and that was the whole point. This is really her holiday. I think that it's just too early for me to get all caught up in the holiday spirit, if you know what I mean.

Besides, I think the folks that get full of the holiday cheer are the oldsters and the youngsters! Nothing lights up like a child's eyes at Christmas, except maybe an oldster's face when remembering the joys of Christmas' past!

Thanks to all that dropped by the blog yesterday and I apologize for not being able to answer the comments. Like we say, sometimes life gets in the way!

Coffee on the patio again. I have some cherry pie to go along with it! Are you game?

  1. I'm glad it all went well yesterday and I loved that Tom and Jerry film :-)

It is snowing here so even I feel some of that christmas spirit now :-)

I think I'll come over for some of that pie :-)

    Have a great day!
    Christer.

  3. Welcome back. I am glad it went as well as it did. This time of year can be stressful , even on the best of families.

  5. Hey Ben...
    One thin slice coming up!

I'm trying my best to stay away from the drama this year, and so far I've managed to do just that!

Can't let these jerks control all my emotions, right?

You have a great day, and thanks for coming by today!

    Hey Momlady...
I sure hope that your holidays are shaping up well!

I have an idea! You eat the pie and I'll keep watch on your figure for ya!

Either way, I'm glad to see ya and appreciate the visit today!

  9. Hey Troubole...
I figure that if I make it through another one, that's good enough for me!

I'm fairly blessed with my health and I have plenty of food, a warm place to sleep, and the Lord to watch over me!

What more could a person want?

    Thanks for coming by today!

  10. 99 percent of what we worry about never come to fruition..Our car is stuck in a grocery store parking lot, the gear shift won't move..We just had lunch at the Wendy's and got to the front of the grocery store parking lot right next to Wendy's and after I got done shopping but not before I unloaded my hubby tried to start it so it would be nice to sit in for the less than a mile drive home, boom it would not budge..We carted the food home, put some cash in the Salvation Army bucket, donations down so much many won't be having any christmas presents or food and walked the cart, and food home, hubby took cart back, still no working, had to take tons out of the car for fear someone would break in and learn who we were etc..Fellow gave my hubby a ride home, no one can do anything it is sunday.. I am not worried it is just a car mind you..we are okay..I don't worry about things I have absolutely no control about at all, why waste my time and my feelings..Happy Holidays, now I love chery pie and coffee is always welcomed wished I could walk right over, I would get you to be in the holiday spirit for sure, and take a tiny slice and a cuppa!!!! Take care and smile..

  11. More and more of these family things are happening at my daughter's house, and that's fine with me. Glad your mom had a good time and that you survived it.

There's a big kettle on the stove anytime you want to pull up a chair.

  12. Hey Anon 11:34...
Sorry the car broke down, but at least you are fairly close to home.

I appreciate the thoughts and agree that we shouldn't worry about what we can't control.

Nice of you to think of the less fortunate in the midst of your breakdown. That's what the holiday spirit should be about.

    Thanks for coming by today!

    Hey Sixbears...
Mom always wants the gatherings to be at her house, mainly because she can't get around so well.

I shouldn't gripe about it...after all, if it makes her happy then all is good!

A chair next to the stove sounds just fine to me!

    Thanks for dropping by today!
