Happy Thanksgiving...!

I couldn't think of a better way to represent the American holiday of thanksgiving than to show an illustration from one of the most talented of American artist of all times...Norman Rockwell.

He had a way of putting into a painting the feelings others were trying to put into words. When you look at one of his paintings, you could almost feel the emotion of the subjects.

And the words on this painting sort of says it all...at least to me!! I hope we all take them to heart and understand this message is a timeless one.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and readers that celebrate it. I hope each and everyone of you has a very good day! Now let's go have some pie and fresh coffee...

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, Bubba, and to all my family in Houston. Yesterdays blog was so delightful. I told Leah not to buy the girls any toys for Christmas as they happen to have a few. They will be more interested in the boxes and paper anyway. Some of my last years spent in public education we had a large cardboard box in the room that the kids loved. We also had an old cast iron bathtub on clawed feet that was filled with throw pillows and comforters and the kids were rewarded at days end with time in the box or tub...it sure made for good behavior sometimes! Hope ya'll have a great day!
    Yesterday's Annonymous was not me!

  2. Hey Sis...thanks for stopping by this morning. It's amazing how the child's imagine takes over and becomes so creative when offered the opportunity.

Seems to me that we spend many days as children making our own toys out of stuff laying around. We always managed to have some fun, huh?

    Happy Thanksgiving...
