Once in a lifetime, there comes along that one individual that has a very special way of saying things.
In what almost seems like magic, he takes us to places in our hearts and our minds we may not have visited before! Carl Sagan was that sort of man.
How you could watch this man and listen to his message and not be moved in some fashion is beyond me! Give a listen to this and see if you don't agree!
Some serious food for thought, don't you agree? If nothing else, it is a very beautiful way to look at the planet earth!
Now, my friends, let's get some fresh coffee an sit in the kitchen. We can discuss the future of our beautiful "blue marble"!
Even our great scientests and astronomers have not yet been able to find a planet the size (small) of ours in a habital zone anywhere else in the univese. That will give you another perspective on how small and insignificant our planet is. Sagen had a talent to explain things beyound most of us.
Great post HJ and it sure does provided a fresh perspective on this place we all call home. And Sagan's message that we should all be more kindly to one another is one which sadly doesn't hit home with all.
Sagan was a phenomenal man, wasn't he? And I definitely agree with you - the Man upstairs knew what he was doing! It's so easy to think that we're somehow important in the big scheme of things, when the opposite is really the truth!
He really knew how to explain our little place in the universe so that every one could understand.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day now!
Christer.
Hey Christer...
ReplyDeleteThat he did, my friend! The man had a very special way about him!
Thanks so much for coming by today!
You keep coming up with the neatest things. Keep up the good work and have a good sunday.
ReplyDeleteGood find on the Segan bit.
ReplyDeleteWe are just a speck of dust in the eye of something much larger aren't we?
Hey Mechanic...
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them, my friend! You have a good Sunday as well, and thanks for coming by today!
Hey Ben...
That's as good a way to explain it as any! Sort of makes you humble to stop and think about it, doesn't it?
I sure do thank you, buddy, for coming by today!
Ain't no other place like this place!

ReplyDeleteHey Bob...
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you on that, my friend! Without a doubt, this is the place...!
Thanks so much for coming over today!
Hey Dizzy...
He was indeed a great story teller! Mad history seem like a good movie, ya know?
Sometimes I think that science spends way too much effort in trying to explain things, instead of just enjoying them.
I think the Man upstairs knew what He was doing when He created all this! Maybe we aren't supposed to understand it all!
I appreciate you coming by today!

Have a great day my friend - and pass the coffee!
Hey Beatrice...
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that the message goes unheeded for the most part!
When we take the time to stop and consider how really small a place we occupy in the big picture, it's an humbling thought!
Thanks, my friend, for coming by today!
Hey Katie...
I feel that we sometimes get caught up in what we think is our own importance, and overlook the true purpose of why we are here!
Taking time to stop and smell the roses, also allows us time to marvel at their beauty!
Thank you so much for coming by today!
There is nothing new under the SUN ,there is just a whole lot of stuff we just don't know!
