Great Vintage Halloween Cartoons...!
You all know that Halloween is just around the corner, and I thought that today would be a good time to watch some vintage cartoons.
These are old! When I say old, I mean even older than me! Actually, these are from 1933! That means both of these were from the time we all call the "good old days!"
Believe it or not, these were almost banned at the time because some of the images were considered too disturbing! Boy, how times have changed, huh?
Another from long ago!
It's nice to know that before all the craziness of modern days started, this time of the year was actually fun for many folks! Hayrides, Fall festivals, harvest dances...just good old fashion fun!
Might be nice to experience a little of that again, don't you think?
Coffee in the kitchen this morning. Almost too cool to sit on the patio, but I sure like this weather!
it's still fun for some people, but god knows the cartoons have gotten a whole lot worse beyond a few exceptions. people have gotten too stuck up and chasing the jones to have a good time. then again, government and neighbors have turned into a bunch of asshats too. my neighbors tried to have a weiny roast tonight and some shithead next door busted them via the fire department. yeah, it was a big fire, but they were on an acre of land and it was under control.
ReplyDeleteanyhow, hope you have a nice Hallowween.
Hey Phreaknik...
ReplyDeleteYou would think the neighbors would be glad to see some good ol' fun activities going on, instead of trouble!
Most folks that start a large fire are well aware of the danger and know how to keep an eye on things.
I really appreciate you coming by this morning!
I feel sorry for the kids these days Hermit. When they get old enough to start reminiscing, I don't think their good old days are gonna' hold a candle to ours.
ReplyDeleteHey HoboJoe...
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine what the elevator music is going to sound like when they are our age? Now THAT is a scary thought!
I have to agree with you on how much our "good ol' days" were worth remembering!
My friend, I really thank you for coming by this morning!
Jim, you've got a point. Can you imagine "easy rap" playing softly to people that are too deaf to hear it?
ReplyDeleteHey Gorges...
ReplyDeleteMan, that thought just boggles the mind!
I don't begrudge anyone the music of their choice, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to be around when that time comes!
Thanks for dropping by today, my friend!
Great cartoons! They sure knew how to do them back then!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Christer.
Dog gone!! You sent me right back to childhood!!
ReplyDeleteWatching cartoons on Saturday morning. :-)
I bet MsBelinda loves that one of Betty Boop! That's her mascot.

Thank you Jim for the great entertainment. Takes me back, even though the cartoons were before my time (a little). Hope things are getting straightened out your way.
ReplyDeleteHey Christer...
ReplyDeleteConsidering the age of these cartoons, they still look pretty good!
They are different, but then everything changes over the years!
Thanks, my friend, for coming over today!
Hey Ben...
My sisters and I used to sit in the floor and watch Saturday morning cartoons!
Besides the cartoons, we had Roy Rogers, Zorro, Captain Midnight...all the serials shows!
Then at night, all the scary movies and shows came on. Fun times!
Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!
Hey Momlady...
Slowly but surely things are getting back to what passes for normal!
Just trying to cushion Mom's mind about turning 86 Tuesday!
Baby Sis and I are sending her to North Carolina to visit my other sister "B". It would be nice if you could meet!
Thanks for the concern and for coming by today!
Thanks for the cartoons they were great.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is fantastic finally. Nice brisk walk this morning with Fred.
Glad to hear things are doing better around your place. Nice birthday gift for your mom. You kids are wonderful to her.
Hey JoJo...
ReplyDeleteI'll just bet that Fred liked the weather pretty good! He does enjoy his walks, I take it?
We do try and take care of her without letting her know that she isn't the "boss" anymore!
She does like her independence, but who doesn't?
Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!
Thank you for the saturday morning cartoons! Does Betty Boop remind you of Mae West?
ReplyDeleteHalloween has always been my favorite holiday. Remember in school cutting out witches, black cats, pumpkins of construction paper? Scare Crows, shocks of corn? I loved pumpkin pie and baked sweet potatoes. Pomegranates got rip at Halloween, grapes were when school started, and Peaches were summer time. Was it that long ago??? 67 years or more ago.
(sigh)
Annie Mouse
Hey Annie Mouse...
ReplyDeleteI think we just had more fun in school than the kids do today. Seems like we still managed to learn a few things as well!
Seems to me that a more fun atmosphere makes for better learning.
Thanks for coming over today!
