There are certain things in life that somehow just can't be explained. No matter how hard you try, you can't seem to find out the reason for them. Sometimes the mysteries are big and sometimes they are little. Never the less, large or small, they linger and linger and defy any logical explanation. Maybe if you help me, we could figure out the reason for these ongoing mysteries of life.
First of all, I've noticed that men and women seem to be completely reversed from one another. Take paper towels and other paper goods on rolls...women seem to hang the rolls facing the wall while men seem to hang the rolls facing outwards from the wall. Have you ever noticed this? Is it just me?
And what about buttons? Men's buttons are on the right side, women's buttons are on the left. The zippers are reversed for men and women's clothing...why is that? I'm sorry, but I just don't understand why these differences exist! Like the practise of putting on a belt through the loops on pants! Most men start with the loops on the left, while the women start with the loops on the right! Why??
Now don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the fact that men and women are different! Boy, do I LOVE the difference...! Life would be very, very dull without some differences between men and women. But you know how it is with little things...when they get into your mind it's hard to stop thinking about them. Because trying to figure out the reason for these differences, these little things, theses mysteries, was driving me crazy I did the only thing I could think of. I decided to ask a woman.
Being aware that women basically know more than men about most things, I just knew that my female contacts would be able to explain this to me. Alas, this was not the case. Even the most knowledgeable of the women I know couldn't explain. So, the mystery remains! Hopefully one of my readers can offer up an answer to why these little differences are there!
Let's do this...let's get some fresh coffee, go sit on the patio and see if between us we can come up with an answer, OK? OK!!
Well, we always knew I was the tomboy, but this proves it! I put all my paper products with the roll facing out, and start my belts to the left, even though my zippers face right! Wonder what that really says about me???
ReplyDeleteLooks like the babies are reaching adolescence now..must get over to see them!
Hey Sis...I KNEW there was something different about you! Until now I just didn't know what it was! I appreciate you dropping by and commenting...
ReplyDeleteCome over any old time and I'll let the kitties climb on you for a while! Does wonders for the blood circulation...really gets it flowing, if ya know what I mean!
Leave it to my buddy Jim, who popped in yesterday, at the most stressful part of my day and start asking about toilet paper rolls :D
ReplyDeleteOhhh Jim, how did you know I needed a break from really thinking. hahaha
Belts? Shoot, I haven't worn a belt since ... my son's wedding almost a year ago. Wow how time flies.
And the TP rolls are put on so that when the kitties play with them (rolling them) they don't end up all over the floor. The just have a nice shredded look when it's done. You'll get used to it.
Have a good day,
blondie :))
Hey Blondie...thanks for dropping by! Ya know, if I can make you smile just a little, then my day is complete. Ya just never know when I might pop in with another silly question...heck, the answers are as much fun to read as the questions, I'm thinking!
ReplyDeleteJim
Hi Jim. Hmmm... let me give it a try.
ReplyDeleteMen and women both have "energy", at a higher vibratory rate than the physical body.
Basically our energies are reversed in polarity (men vs women that is), unless the person clearly shows more of the opposite sex energy, which means their energy polarity is reversed with their own bodies.
So..... Right side of body is controlled by the left side of the brain. And... that's logic. Rather than feeling. Women are more creative and feeling, that's right side of the brain and left side of the body.
So there is your clue to the buttons and zippers and so on.
What do you think?

Now, there are also some women out there that refuse to replace the toilet roll when they've used it up. That shows defiance of authority and clearly a male type of personality. I know, my x-wife was one of those. She even vehemently denied that she did not replace the roll!
ReplyDeletejs
Hey JS...thanks for dropping by and for the comments. I haven't thought of it in this way, but you may be on to something!
ReplyDeleteWhere would we be without these little mysteries to ponder each day?
Jim
I have one other small explanation for the buttons on women's clothing...in the day when ladies had maids to help them dress, the "helper" was normally right handed, so the buttons were put on for the convenience of the one actually buttoning them. Don't know how much truth there is to it, but it made sense to me...lol
ReplyDeleteAs always, love to see what you are all up to every day...Jim, blondie, js, etc...such a nice family to be part of...
I'm SMILING, are you?
Cat
Hey Cat...thanks for dropping by and for sharing a smile with us! I enjoyed your post about smiling on your blog, by the way!
ReplyDeleteYou're right about this being like a big ole family...let's hope it stays a happy one!
Jim
hahaha wow Jim
ReplyDeleteThis has gone was farther than I ever thought it would.
We have the intellectual, the history based and the I don't knows (me).
So who wants to dress me tomorrow? Oh wait ... I ususally wear t-shirts. No buttons. Sorry guys!!
Hey Blondie...I Volunteer!!! I Volunteer!! Especially if you're only wearing a t-shirt! Buttons or no buttons!!
ReplyDeleteThis is turning into a fun day...can't wait until Tomorrow!!
Jim
What Cat said about the buttons is my understanding, although from what I've seen things are getting to be the same for men and women, as far as which way buttons go. The world is adapting... to a right-handed culture.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the belt thing... That seems to vary, somewhat, but from my checking around it seems to be different for right-handed people than left-handed people. I do my belt the way I was taught to do it in the military. Old habits, and all that.
And about the toilet paper... Well, it's a girl thing. You wouldn't understand. :-D
Hugs to everyone,
Ashley
Ok, I have one more:
ReplyDeleteMost women are "move towards" and most men are "move away", that's why women put the toilet paper TOWARDS the wall, and men put it AWAY from the wall.
Haha!
js
hey John...by the same token, you could say that since women are "move towards" they would seemingly hang the roll towards them and the opposite would be true for the men!
