You Might Want To Look At This...!

My sister sent this to me and I thought that the figures were interesting enough to pass on to you, in light of all the controversy about health care!

I tried to verify them using Snopes, but couldn't find a pro or con view on their web site.

A recent "Investor's Business Daily" Article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.

Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:
U.S. 65%
England 46%
Canada 42%

Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:
U.S. 93%
England 15%
Canada 43%

Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:
U.S. 90%
England 15%
Canada 43%

Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:
U.S. 77%
England 40%
Canada 43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:
U.S. 71
England 14
Canada 18

Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent health":
U.S. 12%
England 2%
Canada 6%

I don't know about you, but I don't Want "Universal Healthcare" comparable to England or Canada .

VERY INTERESTING! The percentage of Each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the Cabinet. You know what the private business sector is... A real life business, not a government job. Here are the percentages.

T. Roosevelt........ 38%
Taft..................... 40%
Wilson ................. 52%
Harding.................49%
Coolidge.............. 48%
Hoover................. 42%
F. Roosevelt......... 50%
Truman................. 50%
Eisenhower........... 57%
Kennedy.............. 30%
Johnson................ 47%
Nixon.................... 53%
Ford..................... 42%
Carter................... 32%
Reagan................. 56%
GH Bush.............. 51%
Clinton ................. 39%
GW Bush............. 55%

And the winner of the Chicken Dinner is...Obama...8% !!!

Yep! That's right! Only Eight percent!!!..the least by far of the last 19 Presidents!! And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how to run their business? They know what's best for GM...Chrysler... Wall Street... And you and me?

How can the president of a major Nation and society...the one with the most successful economic system in world history... Stand and talk about business when he's never worked for one?.. Or about jobs when he has never really had one??! And neither has 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers..! They've spent most of their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs....or as "community organizers"..when they should have been in an employment line.

MAY GOD HELP US!

Now, my friends, it's time for some coffee in the kitchen, don't you think?

  2. Hey Tramps...
Always glad to bring the facts as I believe them to be true!

They don't make much sense, do they?

Thanks a bunch for coming by!

  3. Hey Jim,

Your first part that references Investor's Business Daily is actually part of a letter to the editor from Charlottesville, Va "Daily Progress" 02/13/10

It is the most recent incarnation of a hoax.

The full letter can be found here:

    http://www2.dailyprogress.com/cdp/news/opinion/letters_to_the_editor/article/u.s._has_best_health_care_in_world1/52239/

I was a subscriber to IBD for a long time. I looked over their site but could not find anything that makes full reference to what the author of the article claimed.

The closest I could come was this:

    http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=503109&Ntt=UN+hip+cancer+diabetes+MRI

    http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=503233&Ntt=UN+hip+cancer+diabetes+MRI

These statistics have been reposted many times around the internet.

What tips you off to the fact that the whole thing is probably fake is that there is no such agency as the "United Nations INTERNATIONAL Health Organization" It is the UN WORLD Health Organization.

Putting Obama in charge of this nation was like getting your teen age boy liquored up, pumping him full of Viagra, letting him watch porn, giving him a credit card, handing him the car keys, and giving him a map to the closest strip club.

Nothing good is going to come of it.

  4. I've lived on both sides now. Australia's health care system is comparable to the Great Britain/Canada system, and I'm here to tell you that if I was seriously sick,(and could still travel) I would be heading to the US like a bat outta hell. Health care may be "free" here, but IMO, it's sub-standard. The only way the country can cope with the glut of patients fronting up at the ER with common colds, (it IS free after all) is to import non-English speaking Doctors.

  5. My son and daughter-in-law (who is British)had an experience with Britain's IHS and it was not nice. Seems you call the doctor's office to see IF you can make an appointment. Someone calls you back and asks questions to determine if you are sick enough to be seen. Don't think I'd like someone determining how sick I am. But I've worked in the ER where people come in on the weekend with symptoms they've had ALL WEEK. They just use the ER as their doctor's office. I usually put those people at the "end of the line", if there was one. Real emergencies came first. (No, I'm not nor ever have been a doctor, I just worked in the ER). It will get even worse if the IHS goes through.
Thank you for the coffee. Now if it would just warm up outside.

  6. Hey Catman...
I appreciate the links this morning! Sorry I couldn't find any reference to this article anywhere!

Good to see you...and you know I'm always glad to have you come by! Thanks, guy!

    Hey Tatersmama...
Nothing like a little first hand knowledge! I appreciate the information, Lady1

I appreciate you coming by today!

    Hey Momlady...
Hard to say what most of us would do if the health care system gets any worse. There are changes that do need to be made, but we must be careful how we go about it!

I certainly don't want it forced down my throat...

I do thank you for coming by today!

  7. God I hope I can stay healthy, because if we get FREE health care I'm sure 69 year olds may have to go the the rear of the line. Or just die.

    See Ya

  8. This just makes one sick!?, doesn't it? Oh, help! Can't say I'm surprised about Obama. Hurray for Eisenhower, Reagan and Bush in getting real business people in there. I pray every day that they don't mess too much with healthcare. I've had severe arthritis for 43 years and now I might not even get seen for it.
Thanks for the coffee, now I feel better! Blessings on your day.

  9. Hey Tony...
I know what you mean, my friend! Guess you and I will fall into that list of those that really don't need to be seen because of our age!

All we can do is hope for the best!

Thanks for the visit today, buddy!

    Hey Cotton lady...
Just seems to me to have real business men around you would be better than filling the empty spots with more "Yes" men.

Guess I'm still old school about things like that!

I really appreciate you coming by today!

  10. I've heard the same things from other sources, including people who live in Canada and the UK. Scary! I know in theory how we are supposed to change our government, but I'm not sure we have enough people who have read the Constitution. -Marji

  11. Hey Marji...
Guess all we can do is to keep on hoping for the best! maybe as time goes on, more of the people will get the message!

In the mean time, we just have to keep on working the ballot boxes and looking for a legitimate spokesperson!

Thank you so much for coming by today!

  12. ...the situation will worsen,no matter the outcome of the bill (.02)...
...if i was bad ill,in need of 'medical care',i wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here...ever...

  13. Thanks for info Jim, I have a cousin that lives in Victoria, BC. She has told me that the health care in that country is as you mentioned. But what is really bad is when Obama speaks the Democrats jump, without questioning or representing their communities. Be glad when we can get them out of office. Great coffee this morning.

  14. Hey Ken...
I am certainly with you on the being here in times of ill health, my friend! Still beats all the alternatives, I think!

You know that I have my pockets and pouches ready to be filled if needed!

I certainly appreciate you coming by today, buddy!

    Hey Looking...
Sad thing when the system can just treat everyone in need of care as disposable and replaceable, isn't it?

Let's hope we can get enough voters to take action when the time comes!

Thanks a lot for dropping by today!

i brought that fact up and usual was clased as a trouble maker

not sure about the health figures i reckon figures can be squewed into any shape a certain side want s

  18. The old saying goes"If you have a fleet of trucks, you hire a truck mehanic". Well our people from the left hired a soap box derby mechanic. Boy are we in trouble. Now we to hire the best people at the next ballot box.

  19. Wow... 8%...

    And shows. Not surprising, really.

I'm responsible for my health, and really don't wanna pay for others' who've never taken proactive measures. Just my $.02 ...

  21. Hey Hermit...
My old friend! Good idea...about us getting together and taking all the best ideas and making them work for us all!

Only if we all succeed, do any of us!

I am sure glad that you had the chance to come by today!

Peace and good travels to your Clan!

    Hey Mechanic...
We are certainly going to have to do something...as what we have now is NOT benefiting us at all!

Come election time, I think we will see some changes made...at least, I hope so!

Thanks, my friend, for coming by!

    hey Cygnus...
All of us are eventually responsible for our own health...but just don't want a bill shoved down our throat!

    Thanks for coming by today!

  24. And when the Prime Minister of Canada recently needed surgery, where did HE head?? FLORIDA!!

His comment - "This is MY health we're talking about!" As heard on the Rush Limbaugh show, so take it for what you think of the origin..
