A Few Worthy Quotes...!

Winston Churchill was quite an interesting man.

Never one to spare the words, good or bad, he made a formidable orator. So many good quotes can be attributed to Churchill, there is just no way I could include them all. I have instead put some on today that could apply to all men everywhere!

All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.
Winston Churchill

I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught.
Winston Churchill

I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.
Winston Churchill

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.
Winston Churchill

Politics is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen.
Winston Churchill

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.
Winston Churchill

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
Winston Churchill

So many quotes like this could very easily be applied to the way things are right now. Funny how the truth never really goes out of style, isn't it?

Coffee on the patio this morning, just so we can listen to the morning doves calling! Man, don't they sound pretty?

have you noticed one correlation with all of these quotes?

they all refer to the "individual" in a society rather than the "collective" of a society.

Hey Griper...
I'm not so sure that is a bad thing. After all, a collective is nothing more than like minded individuals banding together.

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning!

Great Post. I like the last one the best. I guess I would because I will fight for what I feel is right for myself or for another.

And as for the Doves their sound is pretty their wanting to nest all over my porch is not pretty.
But I will still sit with you.

Hey JoJo...
But just think how pleasant they would sound every morning! Sure, you might have to sweep up a lot, but I can think of a lot worse pets to have around...like maybe a skunk!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!

Will Rogers is high on my list when it comes to quotable Quotes A man only learns in two ways, one by reading, and the other by association with smarter people.

Hey Ted...
I just happened to read a lot of Will Rogers quotes yesterday. Pretty good!

His views on government are a hoot!

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Totally agree on that last one - my grandfather told me if someone in this world wasn't mad at you for some reason, you aren't trying hard enough.

You know, for a self proclaimed uneducated man, Churchill was pretty dang smart.

Hey Anon 12:26...
That makes perfect sense to me! Sometimes I feel that I must have been doing a whole lot right, since so many seem to be upset with me for something!

Thanks for coming over today!

Hey Ladyhawthorne...
I certainly have to agree with you on that! Seems to me that he was a pretty wise gentleman!

Made a great leader as well!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Churchill liked to drink, one night at an event one evening a lady told him he was drunk. "Yes, but in the morning I'll be sober and you'll still be homely."

His wife and him was at a livestock auction when they brought in a prize bull that had sired many calf's, she said something about how productive he was, he said something like, "Yes, but he isn't poking the same cow all the time." :-)

Hey BBC...
I read about 4 or 5 pages of quotes from Churchill before choosing these few. I remember reading the one you mentioned, along with many more funny ones!

Quite a character!

Thanks for coming over today!
