Fascinated with poison from his youth, Young would poison his father, step-mother, younger sister, several classmates, and at one point even himself. He eventually killed his stepmother, and, after the 15-year-old was sent to a psychiatrist, the police were brought in. Young landed himself in a psychiatric facility for people who have committed criminal offenses and was diagnosed with a personality disorder.
Dubbed the “Teacup Poisoner,” he would kill a fellow inmate and poison several staff members before being released nine years later, deemed “fully recovered.” He would eventually land back in prison in the early 1970s to live out the rest of his days, but he would go on to poison 70 more people, ultimately killing several, before that.
Call me crazy, but I think this guy was released just a tad too soon. I mean, he even killed a fellow inmate and poisoned some of the staff.
Coffee out on the patio this morning. Where else?
Seems like he should never have left that first facility to my way if thinking...But what do I know. lol
ReplyDeleteHey Mamahen...
ReplyDeleteI do believe you're right about that
Thanks for stopping by this morning!
What I'd like to know is...How the heck did he get his hands on poison in those places?
ReplyDeleteWhat institution in their right mind would release a person after they killed someone while in that institution. Just goes to show how "stupid" people are. And as Momlady said, how the heck did he get poison while in that place?
ReplyDeleteThat's why I'm not against the death penalty for the criminally insane; they can't be cured.
ReplyDeleteI always say the justice system is a real piece of work. Someone almost kills someone they get 2 1/2 yrs they come out and kill someone and get 7 yrs. Someone gets busted for weed and they get 12 yrs. I'm not saying the weed thing is right BUT something is very wrong with this picture.
ReplyDeleteI need my coffee please
Hey Momlady...
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. I'd say their security department sucks!
Thanks for coming over this morning!
Hey Linda...
Does make you wonder about their policy, doesn't it?
Thanks for the visit today!
Hey Gorges...
This guy certainly wasn't cured! No hope at all, I would think.
Thanks for stopping by today!
i used to be rabidly pro death penalty until i found out how many innocent people are jailed every year.
ReplyDeletewhy are rapists and child molesters ever released?
any probation officer will tell you that they always rape again--no exceptions.
yet, as the above writer states, people are jailed for long periods for nothing.
having had some small doings with the justice system, i can tell you that justice is not always served.
same with the media. even local media. had a small acquaintance with a happening and what the media broadcast had no relation to the truth in that instance.
Hey Jo...
ReplyDeleteSometimes it does seem that the justice system needs a major overhaul, for sure.
Thanks, dear, for dropping by today!
Hey Deborah...
Just like the statue, often justice is blind bolded. At the very least, it is often unfair.
Thanks for coming over today!
