Not What You Want To See...!

Sometimes the best laid plans don't exactly work out like you expect!

When you are working outside, a good thing to remember is Don't Mess With Mother Nature!

This is a picture that someone took who works on an oil rig. He was going to take a picture of the lightning and was unaware of the tornado until the lightning illuminated it!

This is a one-in-a-million photo...............

Taken Thursday night, April 2, 2009 . Lariat Sandridge Energy South of Ft Stockton , Texas.

I think I'll just continue to stay inside during thunder storms. I really don't need a picture of the lightning that badly, ya know?

Now, my friend, let's get some coffee and sit on the patio for a while...oh, and keep a watch on the sky for any storm clouds, OK?

Now that is truly an amazing photo. Kinda makes me glad to be looking down at it from here though.

Hey Hermit...
I know what you mean, buddy! I know I don't want to be anywhere this bad boy is headed toward, thank you very much!

Looking at the picture is enough for me!

Hey Felinae...
Does make sitting in the living room all cozy seem pretty good, huh?

Thanks for the visit this morning, Lady!

That is not some thing I want to see in daylight or dark. We do not have them here but we do have what they call micro bursts that is just a real small tornado.
They do enough damage to scare me real good when I think of the real thing.
Might need a couple of cups today Jim.

Hey Rod...
Luckily I haven't ever been this close to a tornado. They are bad enough to see from afar in the daylight, but I can only imagine the terror in seeing one at night out of nowhere!

Reminds me of the movie "Twister"...

Hey, thanks for the visit today, Rod. I appreciate it!

Wow, man. I wish I could have seen that!

HermitJim said...

Hey Catman...
Would be something to write home about, wouldn't it?

Scary, but impressive...hey, thanks for coming by today, my man!

Amazing AND scary, all at the same time. Guess he had his running shoes on, huh?

"bet he had to change his britches" was my first thought too! What an amazing shot!

Good morning Friend,
WOW awsome photo but scary, We get micro bursts here to and they are bad enough. One hit over the house about 15yrs ago. The walls seemed to be breathing and it ripped the cooler off the roof and peeled the siding off. Our damage wasn't as bad as our nieghbors.

Wow--wouldn't want to be the one taking that photo! Thanks for sharing--I wonder if it caused damage, or if it was farther away than it looks--I certainly hope so!

Hey Sue...
It would certainly get my attention! I have a feeling this guy probably set a new running record!

Thanks for coming by, Sue...

Hey Rae...
I know that after this I certainly would! You could probably find me by following the trail, ya know?

Thanks for the visit, Rae!

Hey Dori...
In a case like this, I imagine that First you say it, then you do it!

Thanks, friend, for coming by!

Hey Kyddryn...
How about two deadly warriors about to do battle! Nature is amazing, for sure!

Good to see you this morning!

Hey JoJo...
The only good thing about tornados or micro-burst is that they don't stay in one spot for very long, unlike the hurricane that lingers for a while.

Either one would make me nervous...

Hey, thanks for coming, JoJo...I saved you a seat!

Hey Marie...
Things like this, even if they don't hurt you, can make you hurt yourself! Hard to tell where they were because they move so fast!

Hey, thanks for the visit, Marie!

Hmm I was wondering if it was photoshopped also. It is a beautiful picture!
I'm with you Jim, staying inside suits me just fine. Mother Nature scares the heck out of me. Thank God for basements.
