A Little Texas Humor...!

One thing about those of us that live in Texas! We can laugh at ourselves as well as anyone!

You know, humor should play an important part in our lives. We should try and find some humor, however small, in each and every day. So, keeping that in mind...here is a small bit of Texas humor for ya!

Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots?

He asked for help and she could see why..

Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a sweat.

She almost cried when the little boy said, 'Teacher, they're on the wrong feet.' She looked, and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet..

He then announced, 'These aren't my boots.'

She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, 'Why didn't you say so?' like she wanted to. Once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet. No sooner had they gotten the boots off when he said, 'They're my brother's boots. My mom made me wear 'em.'

Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his little feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, 'Now, where are your mittens?'

He said, 'I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots.'

She will be eligible for parole in three years!

Remember, my friend, that variety is the spice of life. A little laughter can serve to sweeten things up just a tad. As the man once said..."Smile, and the world smiles with you! Cry, and you cry alone"!

C'mon, let's get some fresh coffee and sit on the patio for a while. You can tell me a joke...!

I think that was my grandson with the boots. Yep, I am convinced it was. Sounds just like the many times I have had to help him put on his boots. It is an exasperating experience. Very funny post. Loved it. Sorry I haven't been around much lately - winter blahs have gotten hold of me. The laugh today helped a lot. Thanks.

I've got a 7 year old daughter who sometimes acts like that in the morning, it takes several turns / twists in the plot line before you get the real picture.

Leave it to you, H.J., to provide some simple humor to add a grin with the coffee. Thank you!

Hey John...
Now you've done it! I'll be thinking about that one all day long!

Hurry back from your errand and I'll try and save you some coffee!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Rae...
I think that at some point in our lives, we have had an experience similar to this...either with our children ot our grands!

Only good thing about it is the fact that later down the line, it will seem funny!

Sorry you've been down...but I do hope you are bouncing back, my friend!

Many thanks to you for coming by today...

Hey Gen...
Glad you liked it! Sounds like you have had something like this happen before!

Hey, thanks for coming by today!

Hey Anon 7:07...
sometimes you really have to drag the whole story out of them! Though it's not funny at the time, later we can see the humor!

Kids...you just gotta love 'em!

I really appreciate you coming by today!

Hey JoJo...
Let it rain if it wants to! You have a roof, fresh coffee...and plenty of open spaces, right?

Tony and I both want to be where you are! Better set out a couple more cups, just in case!

Sweetie...I certainly appreciate you dropping by today!

Hey Tony...
I told JoJo to put out a couple more cups for us...

Good luck on the land search, buddy! Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Momlady...
I'm glad it made you grin this morning, dear lady!

I saw some pictures of your place in the woods...beautiful! I don't suppose you'd like to adopt me?

Oh well...just a thought!

Thanks, my friend, for coming by today!

Hey 2 Tramps...
I do what I can to get your day started with a smile! That helps to set the tone for the rest of the day, don't ya think?

I hope you both are staying warm enough up there! It's supposed to start going back into the 70's here today!

Guess our Winter is all over...

Thanks so much for coming by today!
