Mom Is Home And Coffee Is On Me...!

Mom is home. Brought her home last night, after the stress test and the heart doctor told her that whatever the problem was...it was not caused by her heart! He said that her heart is fine. That's good news!

When I asked him what he thought was the cause of her problems...he said "I don't know, but the good thing is that it is NOT the heart!"

The consensus right now seems to be that it was caused by her lungs and not getting enough oxygen. She does have COPD and that may have played a big part.

What ever the cause...she feels better and is glad to be home. Her cat is glad she is home! I'm glad she's home! Now we can all enjoy being home and not at the hospital...fun-filled as it was!

In keeping with our study of the politics of the day, I offer up this little bit of fodder for the cannon! Just something to think about!

For the first time in history, the Democratic Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment).

In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years. However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and to $120.20 for the year 2011.

Guess we now know who to vote for in next year's elections, right? RIGHT!

Now, my friends, le's get some fresh coffee and sit on the patio for a bit! Supposed to be warmer this morning!

Glad your mom is home and feeling better! Loved the political joke!

Jim, so glad you mom is home and to learn it is not her heart. As for the cruise deal, it may turn out to be just as pictured, especially with health care. Those who voted for the dems are now reaping what they sowed. Personally I think they should all be thrown out along with the PAC's. I'll stop now before the blood pressure goes through the roof. Again, glad your mom is home. ...Bright blessings

I'm glad to hear about your Mom's prognosis, it sounds good. I'm sure she is happy to be out of there.

Went outside this morning and found mid 50's with light drizzle - actually felt warm, lol. I guess compared to recently passed frigid weather, it is.

Have a great day HermitJim.

Really good heart news, now if we can just figure out what is causing the pain and shaking....
Facing my retirement is 5+ years is making ME shaky and giving me pain right now! Let's throw ALL of them out of Washington(wish we could start at the top!) in November and start all over!
And whoever thought 55 would feel balmy?? Oh well, it is winter after all - I've enjoyed the cold, just not the prospect of freezing pipes and plants.....

Agin, thanks for all you do, Bubba. Give Mom a big morning hug for me - see y'all on Saturday, maybe with gingerbread...

Good Morning My Special One, So glad to hear your Mom is home and there is no heart problem. Hope they gave her some good meds for her COPD. Are they having home oxygen for her to use when needed?
Give her a hug from me and there is always one or more for you.
With the winds out here I can sail all the way to the patio from here for the coffee. :)

Bubba,
Equally glad for u that Mom is home. I can imagine the toll it took on u.
My friend Donna is leaving on a cruise in a few days...I asked her if this was the one she was going on.
Keep in touch.
Much Love!!!

Hurrah for being home!!

I guess everyone over a certain age (to be determined on a monthly basis depending on income, shoe size, and voting record) will be getting fliers for free Sunset Cruises in Alaska pretty soon, huh?

I am uninsured. My "policy" is "don't get sick". If that policy fails, then it becomes "get better". If THAT fails, I don't imagine I'll care.

My best to you and Nanny...whatever gremlins played havoc on her, I hope they find somewhere else to apply their mischief.

Shade and Sweetwater,
K

Hey John...
Thanks, man. Your visit is certainly appreciated!

Hey China...
You can always count on them giving themselves a raise! I guess that when you get into politics, one of the things you first have to leave behind is a conscience!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Cath...
Definitely time to celebrate! The not knowing is what makes you tired and worn out after an ordeal like that!

Is it getting a bit warmer up there? Supposed to go to the 50's today here!

Thanks, girl, for stopping in today!

Hey Gen...
Thank you so much for the good wishes and thoughts!

Glad you liked the humor, and certainly glad you could come by today!

Hey Momlady...
Thank you so much for your concern! I know you are going on a cruise soon...it isn't one of these, is it?

Should start warming up a bit there i the next day or two...time to get outside maybe!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Hey Anon 7:11...
I know what you mean about 50's being warmer! I found it to be so as well!

I sure am getting to where I don't like the cold much!

Hey, thanks for coming by today!

Hey Sis...
Everybody is glad that Mom is home, no one more so that Amie the Cat!

That's right! You are facing retirement before long, huh? All in all, not a bad time!

Always looking forward to anything food-wise from your house!

Thanks for coming over yesterdy and today, sis!

Hey JoJo...
So put on your sail, and head this way! All hugs are appreciated, especially from my favorite girl!

Good to see you this morning, and thanks for dropping in today!

Hey Molly...
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'll pass them on to her!

Hey Ben...
Thanks, my friend! I appreciate that a lot, as I know that Mom will as well!

You stay warm up there, buddy!

Hey Beth...
Donna probably has an iceburg all to herself! First class, ya know?

Sure am looking forward to when we can get together for a visit!

Thanks so much for coming by today!

Hey K...
I'm with ya on the Gremlins going somewhere else! Not that I wish this on some one else...but stay away from my house and from Mom's!

I can't say enough about how much your concern meant to both of us! Thank you for caring, my friend!

Three cheers Jim;
Glad to hear mom is ok.

Gets much colder here we can have our own ice flows. At least one could still fish while on them. That is unless they pass a law against it. I guess with pain meds gone by then it will be Jack and water. lol

See Ya

Thank goodness your mom is okay. I know you are relieved to have her home.
I am really upset about that COLA info. I don't know how we can continue to survive under these conditions and I am really worried about insurance. They may say it is going to be better, but I am not that stupid. Mine is definitely going to be worse. I think all of us seniors are going to standing on that little ice floe to nowhere.

HermitJim said...

Hey Tony...
I think we will have to have a special license to fish from the ice flows!

I reckon that Jack and water won't be too bad as a med! At least it might make payng for the new "ice fishing" license a bit more tolerable!

Thake care, buddy! Your kind thoughts and your visit are greatly appreciated!

Hey Rae...
I do agree with you about the insurance thing! Getting to be a scary thing to get on in years, that's for sure!

I've been healthy for the most part, except for a little touch of irregular heart beat...but some others in my family are having some issues. It's sad that no one feels secure in their older years anymore!

Allwe can do is to pray and hope for the best, guess!

Thanks so much for coming by today, friend Rae!

Hey Christer...
It would be more comforting for sure if we knew just what the problem is. I guess all the doctor will figure it out sooner or later!

Hey, I appreciate you coming by, my friend!

Hey Blondie...
My Colorado Cupcake! I'm sure glad to see you!

bet you still have snow on the ground there...and probably more on the way! BRRRR....!

I figured Santa would bring you a new 'puter this time around! Guess not, huh?

Maybe soon.

Well, I hope you get a new one soon! You deserve it...

Just stumbled across this blog today, and thought I would add a FYI. I’m 71 years old and already on SS and Medicare. I’ve already received my first SS payment for 2010. As expected, there is no COLA, but neither was there an increase in the amount deducted for Medicare. My payment was exactly the same as it was for each month of 2009.

Hey Eutychus2...
Looks like something to look forward to, doesn't it?

One thing about it...don't think anyone will be wandering odd anywhere!

Thanks for the visit!

Hey Bob Mc...
Glad you found your way over...hope you won't be a stranger!

That's good news about the s.s. check not showing an increase in the cost of Medicare. Saving moet is always good!

Thanks for coming by...and I hope you continue to come by!
