Thoughts About Taxes...!

Since it's Sunday, I thought we would do a little piece about politicians and taxes.

You know, nothing too heavy. Just something to think about this morning!

TAXES

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he ' s fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for
peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won ' t be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He ' s good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he ' s laid...

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
' Taxes drove me
to my doom... '

When he ' s gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

KNOW WHAT'S FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom, if agreed, stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell ' politicians? '

Sad, isn't it? Sad but true!

Coffee on the patio, folks. It may just rain, but that's OK!

I tried googling the poem to see if I could find the author, but had no luck. HOWEVER, I DID come across a Democrat site that went through the list of taxes telling why they are such wonderful things. Why doesn't that surprise me?

And 100 years ago corporations were taxed at 90%. Got the picture yet?

Hey Gorges...
Sorry, but it was sent to me without a name attached to it, so I have no idea who wrote it!

I'm sure there are some taxes not on this list. Certainly a lot of them!

Thanks for coming over today, Gorges.

Hey Anon 6:36...
I didn't know that! Learn something every day!

Hey, thanks for dropping by today!

Hey DD...
Boy, ain't that the truth? Death and taxes!

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Hey SixBears...
I'm always a bit surprised that Texas hasn't established a income tax yet.

Someday they might just try it, but who knows?

Thanks for the visit today!

Hey JoJo...
It does seem to happen pretty regular! Just won't leave well enough alone!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!

Hey Kellie...
Glad to be of service to ya, my friend!

Gee, thanks a lot ! I was having one of them rare pretty good days, now I got to go figure how to pay all them taxes. Wonder what the taxes in Canada are like? The independent NATION of Texas is beginning to sound better and better.

It's all pretty sad. Seems we work so hard for so little to keep.

My thoughts on taxes run along the lines of dressing up like an indian and dumping the tea into the harbor. Good post Jim.
