Does This Mean A Road Trip...?

This just might be a good way to finish off your Christmas shopping!

Get a new truck for yourself and a gun voucher for the wife! Or maybe the other way around...who knows? Now if you're single like me, keep them both for yourself!

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of folks from all over show up! There probably won't be many gang-bangers, though. I don't think the average gangster would be caught dead driving a pick-up truck!

However, there just might be a lot of Texas road trips between now and the end of the sale! According to this story from the Houston Chronicle, the sale ends at the end of hurry if you want to beat the traffic!

Florida dealership offers used-truck buyers AK-47 incentive

SANFORD, Fla. — A central Florida dealership trying to drum up business is offering an unusual perk for potential used-truck buyers: A free AK-47 assault rifle.

General sales manager Nick Ginetta says that since the promotion was announced on Veterans Day, business has more than doubled at Nations Trucks in Sanford.

Customers would have to pass a background check before using the $400 gun shop voucher. They also have the option of using the money toward other firearms, or they can request a check in that amount instead.

The dealership has fielded some complaints about the deal, which Ginetta acknowledges is controversial. But, he adds: "My buyer is absolutely a gun owner, no question."

The promotion runs through the end of November.

I wonder what the weather is like in Florida right now? Be my luck that if I went down would start snowing! So, what do ya say? Are you up for a road trip?

Maybe we had just better stick around here and have some fresh coffee on the patio. I don't really need another truck or an AK-47 that bad, ya know?

Ummm,, Wonder what brand of truck? IF it is Ford, I could see a fly and drive trip in the future!! :-) ( won't walk across the street for a GM)

You check airfares to Florida yet Jim?

Hey Ben...
I couldn't find anywhere in the article what kind of truck it was!

However, being as how they are used there is probably a selection of different brands.

Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!

I think that guy will get a lot of business. I also think that every home and vehicle should be equiped with a firearm of the owner's choice. In fact, I believe it should be a law. Then you would see crime rates drop like a rock or the criminal who tries to enter.

Hey Dizzy...
One thing about folks that live in the country...bad guys just take it for granted that every household is armed!

That's one reason that not as many home invasions happen to country folk!

Like the old saying armed society is a polite society!

Thanks for the comments and for the visit today!

Hey Mechanic...
Sounds like a very "redneck friendly" place, doesn't it?

Wonder why Texas dealers haven't come up with something like this? Too much business, I reckon!

Thanks for coming by today!

And what if I already have my own AK? Do they give me ammo? I think my chief of police wants me to sign on for that deal, just in case our one square mile town is ever invaded.

I can't make it to Florida before the sale ends, but how about I send you the money and you make a truck/gun run for me? I'll even send cookies with the money, of course... ;)

I can see a LOT of folks taking them up on the deal!
