I know it's hot, you know it's hot, and finally the National Weather Service tells us just how hot it is, was and will be!
This may just be the first government report that actually says things in a way that even I can understand! Here is a portion of the report, so see what you think!

...2011 RAINFALL DEFICITS APPROACHING 20 INCHES...
A PERSISTENT UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS THE DOMINANT WEATHER FEATURE ACROSS TEXAS. A WEAK DISTURBANCE TRIGGERED SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ON SATURDAY AND AGAIN SUNDAY...BUT WIDESPREAD RAIN ONCE AGAIN ELUDED SOUTHEAST TEXAS. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE HAS SUPPRESSED RAIN CHANCES AND BROUGHT INTENSE HEAT TO THE REGION.
THERE ARE SEVERAL COMMUNITIES IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS THAT ARE SUFFERING RAINFALL DEFICITS BETWEEN 30 AND 35 INCHES SINCE OCTOBER 1ST 2010. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL TOTAL REPORTED SO FAR IN AUGUST WAS 2.33 INCHES AND THAT OCCURRED IN SOMERVILLE.
THE CITY OF HOUSTON AND COLLEGE STATION HAVE REACHED 100 DEGREES EVERY DAY IN AUGUST. IT WAS ONLY A YEAR AGO (AUGUST 2010) THAT THE FOUR PRIMARY CLIMATE SITES RECORDED THEIR WARMEST AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE. THE RECORD WILL BE SHORT LIVED.
AUGUST 2011 WILL CRUSH...SMASH...OBLITERATE...DESTROY AND ANNIHILATE THE PREVIOUS WARMEST AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE BY AT LEAST 2.0 DEGREES AND IN A FEW LOCATIONS BY 3.0 DEGREES.
You can read the rest of the report right here! It contains the rainfall stats and such, just in case you're interested!
Let's get something cool to drink before we go out to the patio!

They really can´t say it clearer than that :-) :-)
Our weather service has been so bad lately that we don´t even care about it, we look at the norwegian and danish weather forecasts for Sweden instead :-) :-)
Have a great day!
Christer.
Unfortunately the weather gods have not heard me when I've asked (very nicely, I might add) to send you the rain you need. I'll ask nicely again. Maybe a rain dance is in order?
It has been up to 106 the last couple of days and still extrememly dry. Got a few drops of rain yesterday, but had a lot of space around each drop and dried instantly. I guess that is what you call a 3" rain, it had 3' between drops.
If there is a woman you care about, show her this holster.

That is soooo depressing. I live here in Central TX, Hill Country. Any time i'm out, i'm seeing dying trees. Pastures down to dirt, mostly. And our river drying up,, our water supply. Yes, i pray for rain all the time. For us all.
