Conundrums For Thursday...!

We haven't done any conundrums for a while, so this is a good day to rectify that!

“ A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six Conundrums in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.

Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.
Think about it.....and Last but not least,

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens

Am I the only one missing something?

Some of this stuff makes my head hurt, ya know? Thanks to Baby Sis for sending me this. Now I have something to help me sleep at night...NOT!

Coffee in the kitchen this morning. Neighbors rain guage holds 5 inches, but I had to empty it out last night! (I'm house-sitting)

No, you haven't missed a thing!

Boy, I'm in the mood for some breakfast with our coffee. How about some buckwheat pancakes with pure maple syrup?

The saddest part of all, they are all true. And we still do nothing to change it. Save a big stack of those pancakes for me!

I enjoyed sharing them, Bubba, if that's the correct phrasing. Makes us all want to stop and think a little more, huh? I'm still hurting from surgery, so pancakes and maple syrup (that I don't have to cook!) sound great - pass the butter, please.
Big Hugs -

Boy, just reading all that gave me a headache! If only all that stuff wasn't so doggone true I could deal with reading it. Now I really need some coffee. Judy, thank you for the pancakes and maple syrup. Sure will hit the spot this morning.

I'd worry more if there was something I could do about it.

Cool morning on the lake, but the coffee is on the woodstove so all is good.

Yes I read about that the other day on the internet, and I hate to say, but it is all so very true!!

Hey Judy...
Pancakes sure do sound good! And then the maple syrup...? YUMMY!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hey Phyllis...
I'm afraid you're right about that!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Hey Sis...
Sorry to hear that you are still hurting, but at least you don't have to cook this morning.

Many thanks for the visit today!

Hey Linda...
That's the reason we always have a pot going at the Hermit's. Help yourself!

Thanks for coming over today!

Hey Sixbears...
Doesn't seem to be much we can do anymore. Things get more out of control every day.

Bet you are ready to get the boat out on the lake, huh?

Thanks, my friend, for stopping by today!

Hey Dizzy...
That it is, buddy. That it is!

Thanks for stopping in this morning!

Hey Jo...
I'm glad that you liked them, sweetie.

I appreciate the visit!

Hey Texas Rancher...
I'm afraid you are spot on. It's a shame, isn't it?
