More Money Than Sense...!

I know you recognize this little guy!

Heck...nearly everyone on the planet almost immediately knows who this fuzzy, pink, sandal-wearing rascal is! Makes a good commercial, gets the point across, has become an American icon...all that is true!

Even though this little bunny is famous, I wouldn't think he is worth THAT much! I mean, I could think of a lot better ways to spend such a sum! How about you?

Energizer Bunny sales for $18,000 at auction

DALLAS — An Energizer Bunny has sold at auction for almost $18,000.

Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries says the bunny, one of the four original Energizer Bunnies, sold at auction Saturday in Beverly Hills, Calif., for $17,925, including the buyer's premium.

The buyer wanted to remain anonymous.

The auction house says the pink bunny with sunglasses that beat a drum in the commercials was one of the two in most of the television commercials for the batteries. The bunny is 25 inches from its feet to ears.

Now, it says that the "buyer wanted to remain anonymous"...! I wonder why? Could it be that he (or she) doesn't want anyone to know just how stupid they really are?

Or could it be that they didn't want us to know that this was a genuine case of "More Money Than Sense"? What a waste! A colossal waste!

Of course, this is only my humble opinion...and I'm sure that some folks will think I'm completely wrong! But you know what? That's OK! Everyone is entitled...everyone!

Now, my friends, let's get some coffee and sit outside for a bit.

I agree with you 100%, Uncle Hermit.

I can sure think of numerous better ways to put $18,000 to good use. It must be nice to have that much money to throw away on a 25" pink bunny.

Have a good day
Hugs~Felinae~
(still shaking my head in disbelief at the stupidity of some people)

Hey Felinae...
Sort of makes me sick, ya know? Imagine what we could do with that money!

But, in all fairness...it is their money and if they want to spend $18,000 on a stuffed bunny, just because it's been on television...that's their right!

I'm thinking they would be better off with a $3.00 teddy bear!

Hey, I appreciate the visit, my friend!

I certanly can think of lots of things I´d rather do for 18 000! But who knows what I would do if I had the money just ready to be spent on something :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Just another indication of the growing disparity between the rich and not so rich in this country. A lot of us live on $18,000 a year and here is someone with that much in spare change for a bunny.

Probably some Wall St banker spending the money of honest Americans.

ALMOST AS BAD AS THE $20,000.00 DOG HOUSE FEATURED IN YESTERDAY'S
WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL! THE OWNERS LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. WHEN MY KIDS WERE YOUNG, WE HAD A CARPETED DOG HOUSE WITH LIGHTS AND HEAT AND WE DID NOT PAY 20,000. FOR IT...IT WAS, IN FACT, FREE.
WHEN I WANT TO SEE "THE BUNNY" I LOOK AT THE MOON. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING,BUBBA, BUT EVER SINCE I WAS A KID I SAW A BUNNY IN THE FULL MOON. I HAVE YET TO SEE THE MAN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT.
LOVE YOU.

I think I'd feel guilty just being the auctioneer! That's crazy.

Good Morning My Special One,
This world has gone mad. But to them this is an investment. But WOW thats a lot of money to throw around. It would have been nice if the money was going to a charity.

Yeah, there's a lot that could be done with the $$$ but, as you said, the buyer wanted to spend it on the bunny and it was the buyer's money. What about some of the other stupid things people buy?Memorabilia from actors or politicians, etc? Just like some people have to have the biggest TV or car or....I could go on and on. But a cup of coffee would be better.

That bunny will be worth a lot more then $18.000 SOME DAY!!! So it's not really stupid if he turns around and makes a profit.

Hey Christer...
Sort of makes you wonder, doesn't it?

That's a lot of money for a stuffed toy!

Thanks for the visit today!

Hey Bob...
That amount of money would indeed buy a lot of canned goods!

Heck, I could stock a really nice supply in for about half that amount!

Guess it all depends on where your priorities are!

Hey, thanks for coming by!

Hey AV...
Could very well be, my friend...could very well be!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Sis...
Sounds like I could have lived in the dog's house! I seem to stay in one here a lot of the time!

I sure appreciate you coming by today, Sis...

Hey LizBeth...
It does seem to be a little nuts, doesn't it!

But like I said...it's their money! Wonder how that pink bunny will taste come "hard times"?

Thanks for coming by, my friend!

Hey JoJo...
Sweetie, I could only hope that this buyer's got a way to protect the bunny from the dog...or the grand kids!

Wonder if the batteries are included?

I am so glad you could come by today!

Hey Momlady...
Sometimes it does seem like the inmates are in charge, doesn't it?

I see you are surviving the Casa De Crazy tour!

Thanks so much for coming by today!

Hey Val...
Certainly nothing wrong with making a profit! Wonder how long it will take?

Better keep the bunny covered with glass and treat him with something to keep the moths away!

It would make a heck of a Christmas present!

Thanks for the visit today!

I wish I knew who the buyer is,I have a bridge I'd like to sell him. Darn,I always miss out on the big bucks. It should be against the law not to take money from fools like the buyer. The seller must be a congressman. Thanks for another great lesson.

Hey Mechanic...
That's probably why he wanted to remain unknown!

He may have all the bridges he needs right know...!

Hey, I appreciate you coming by, my friend!
