Doesn't Exactly Inspire Confidence...!

There is useless...then there is TOTALLY USELESS!

If this doesn't prove just what a bunch of "less than professional" jerks work for the TSA, I don't know what does! The saddest part of this whole thing is that this is probably the norm, and not the exception!

How long is it going to be before folks have had enough and demand some changes be made in the present system? It's obviously broken and non-fixable, and someone needs to start holding the people in charge of this circus responsible!

I guess it's going to take a murder on a plane, or another major crash, or a hostage situation to make the public mad enough to stand up and start shouting! There has to be something or someone that can be punished for this kind of crap!

I say fire all these TSA bums, rip out their worthless, overpriced machines, put back the old fashioned metal detectors, and get things moving again! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

TSA Source: Armed Agent Slips Past DFW Body Scanner

An undercover TSA agent was able to get through security at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport with a handgun during testing of the enhanced-imaging body scanners, according to a high-ranking, inside source at the Transportation Security Administration.

The source said the undercover agent carried a pistol in her undergarments when she put the body scanners to the test. The officer successfully made it through the airport's body scanners every time she tried, the source said.

"In this case, where they had a test, and it was just a dismal failure as I'm told," said Larry Wansley, former head of security at American Airlines. "As I've heard (it), you got a problem, especially with a fire arm."

Wansley said covert testing by the TSA is commonplace -- although failing should be rare.

The TSA insider who blew the whistle on the test also said that none of the TSA agents who failed to spot the gun on the scanned image were disciplined. The source said the agents continue to work the body scanners today.

Wansley said that is a problem.

"This was only a test, but it's critically important that you do something, because if that person failed in the real environment, then you have a problem," he said.

The TSA did not deny that the tests took place or the what the results were.

The agency would only provide the following statement:

"Our security officers are one of the most heavily tested federal workforces in the nation. We regularly test our officers in a variety of ways to ensure the effectiveness of our technology, security measures and the overall layered system. For security reasons, we do not publicize or comment on the results of covert tests, however advanced imaging technology is an effective tool to detect both metallic and nonmetallic items hidden on passengers."

TSA agents who spoke to a reporter agreed that the body-imaging scanners are effective -- but only if the officers monitoring them are paying attention.

As far as I'm concerned, the TSA is just another case of too many thugs with a bad case of "I'm better than you and I'm the Boss" attitude! I say it's time for us to start providing a little attitude adjustment for these folks!

Best thing for everyone concerned...is to do away with the TSA, the EPA, the FDA and all the other alphabet agencies that are manned by nothing more than power hungry morons, probably just because they maybe didn't get chosen to be on the base ball team or something when they were children!

Well, it's time to grow up, own up, and get out! We don't need you and really never did! LIVE WITH IT!

C'mon, my friends, let's get some coffee and sit outside for a bit!

If they miss a gun when they pass that machine either the machine is crap or the personnel is! We don´t have it like this over here, only those faithful old metal detectors :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

How infuriating. They make us jump through hoops in order to board a plane and it still doesn't work right. You are correct -it needs a major overhaul.

I think you said it all my Friend,
The system has been broken for years.
Coffee on the patio sounds like a nice way to start this Sunday. Weather here isn't very nice and it has been very windy for a few days and no sitting outside in that.

I don't fly anymore, but it isn't because I'm afraid to. Its because I refuse to put up with all the BS to do it.

Hey Christer...
It's sad when all the training, all the money spent for equipment, all the hassle proves to be useless!

I cannot understand why we just continue to allow such as this to happen!

I'm just glad I don't fly! Hey, thanks for the visit this morning, my friend!

Hey Rae...
Like so many other things with the government, too much money spent for things that don't work the way they should!

If they are going to waste all those tax dollars on unnecessary items, at least you would think the stuff would work once in a while!

I appreciate you dropping in today!

Hey JoJo...
Supposed to be back in the 70s here today! I guess that our Winter is over for the most part!

Of course, now that I've said that we'll get another nasty cold spell!

Guess I'll have to start working on Mom's garden for her any day now! BUMMER!

I really didn't want to be here at this time and originally planned to be gone by now!

Ain't gonna happen, it seems!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!

Hey Tffnguy...
I know exactly what you mean! It's getting more and more of a hassle to fly and even drive anymore!

Way too many rules that don't make sense, enforced by non-professional "blue meanies" on a power trip!

I'm staying at home, I think!

Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!

Poor ol tsa, they just can not win no matter what they do. First some "person" screams bloody murder that they are looking at her private body parts, so the tsa trys to stop looking at those places and then some one hides a gun in one of those places and the tsa misses it. This is one thing that will never satisfy everyone no matter what they do. Let some towel head take down another plane with 300 or 400 innocents on it and then just imagine all the screaming at tsa.

Some day you will be where it is you want to go. And I know you love the garden :)I don't know what is going to happen this week with my surgery since I either have come down with a cold or it is a really bad case of alergy since the wind has been blowing for days now and the dirt in the air is thick, if it would just rain and get it all settled down I might be ok. OH well tomorrow I will know if it is canceled which means it wont happen until March.
:(

This does not suprise me at all.
Like my grandfather once said
the last ones to arrive at any crime scene are the police and locked doors only keep honest people honest.
If this agent found a way around them so will the criminals.
So keep your eye's open and be safe.

Hey Bob...
Just seems to me that with all the technology they have at their disposal, they could catch a gun under the clothing!

Good thing it was only one of their own agents doing the test, and not a bad guy!

Thanks for the visit this morning!

Hey JoJo...
I know you are looking forward to getting the surgery done! At least, getting it over with!

Hopefully the weather will give you a break and all things will be OK.

Just keep us posted, sweetie!

Thanks for the visit!

Hey Mike...
There will always be folks out there that love to beat the system, whatever it is!

Too bad they can't come up with a system that everyone can live with!

I do appreciate the visit today!

I've never been on a plane in my life, and I don't think this is a good time to start. I have 2 friends retired from a major airline. They can fly anywhere in the world free of charge; just pay the tax. Neither will fly. Just won't put up with the bs.

Bob from Athens said...

Hey Jim, they do have the technology and the machines to catch things as small as safety pins and needles, nbo matter where they are hidden, unfortunately when they try to use it politics gets in the way and invasion of privacy gets the priority over security.

Hey Bob Mc...
I don't fly just as a matter of choice. Guess I would if I had to, but for now I'm staying on the ground!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Bob...
Guess it's one of those "catch 22" situations. Seems to be a lot of them around now days!

I appreciate your visits, my friend!

It's all fleecing the public, and control psy-ops. There's a special place in hell for these folks...

Hey Mayberry...
Guess these folks need to justify their jobs somehow!

Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!
