Here's Something Really Stunning...!

Here's an idea that I would have never thought of!

Just goes to show you that everything and anything is possible if you just use your imagination! When you see the final product, it makes you want to say "why didn't I think of that?".

I can see a multi-level storage for preps, a guest bedroom, or even a good place to keep your fire arms! Sort of hiding them in plain sight, ya know?

Thinking outside the box, Real Estate?

Check out this sweet little pad
Wait until you scroll down to the bottom!

LIVING ROOM:

KITCHEN:

BEDROOM

ENTRY & STAIRS TO 2nd LEVEL

SHOWER & TOILET

SINK & MIRROR

This place seems very modern, perhaps like something you'd see in a swanky high rise condo or town house near the city, right?

HERE'S THE INCREDIBLE PART...!!

This 1 bedroom loft apartment was built inside a 1940's grain bin.
It was renovated into this upscale unit after it was purchased and relocated to the grounds of the Gruene Homestead Inn in New Braunfels , TX . If that's not creative craftsmanship, then I don't know what is!

Now would you have thought to do that with the old silos on the farm? Some yuppie would pay mega bucks per night to stay in this little B & B.

Just think! If you did away with the porch on the front, scattered a few hay bales around, covered the windows with some climbing vines or the like...you would have a good place to hid anything you wanted! Like I said, hiding in plain sight!

Now, my friends, let's get some fresh coffee and sit on the patio for a bit! OK?

Neat O, saw something similar near here done with a huge gain silo built of concrete blocks. My only complaint was no windows!!

Hey Ben...
I reckon I'd have to put in some windows! Other than that, pretty nice place!

Hey, thanks for coming by today!

I Still wanna go stay there, and Gruene is a pretty neat little town. But, we this publicity, I probably can't afford it anymore....

Big hugs -

That is pretty good camo, bet that old grain bin doesn't warrant a 2nd glance from burglars. Like Ben said above - Neato!

Thanks HermitJim - coffee was particularly good today!

Good Morning My Special One,
That is really sweet looking, they did a great job inside and the little porch is great. I guess my idea is much different than yours. :) I love it.
Surgery is set for this thurs. All systems go. they said I am pretty healthy for my age, what do you think they meant by that. LOL
Pass the pot please coffee is good.

That place would suit me to a tee, since I seem to always be running in circles.

I agree with JoJo. The porch is great! Begs for a porch swing, in my opinion. Some people ARE so clever.
Ben, what about a fake window with some of the beautiful landscape wall paper? I, too, would want windows if I were going to live there, but for a visit...fake is better than nothing and really secures ones privacy.
JoJo, I don't know what kind of surgery you are having but "Good luck". I had surgery a week ago today and I am doing well.

OOPS! I think I see a porch swing!

Wonderful! Love it and have a smaller one that we might consider doing the same thing to. Of course ours wouldnn't be nearly as fancy, but the idea is wonderful! Thanks for sharing this Jim :o)
PTL for those who can think outside the box.
Blessings,
Kelle

Some near by neighbors (about a quarter mile away) live in what looks like an old oilfield tank. I've never seen inside it, but doubt that it is as elaborate as that. It to has an upstairs and the only door I've seen in it is upstairs with a stairway going up to it. I'd love to see inside it just to see how its laid out. I've also thought that would be great. Another neighbor has an about 10 foot diameter tank for sale for $500 and I'm thinking it would be a great low cost storage unit. Wish I had a spare $500 to buy it!

Hey Sis...
It would certainly be interesting to stay the night or two! Something totally different!

Maybe you and the old man could give them a call...sorta see what the going rate is!

Thanks, Sis, for coming by today!

Hey Anon 7:17...
Sometimes the best disguise is simple!

Wouldn't take much to look like part of the farm, that's for sure!

I appreciate the visit today!

Hey JoJo...
Glad the surgery is still on and you are in pretty good shape...at least to me!

Guess after the surgery you'll be all ready6 to go run the marathon, huh?

Hope you have someone to come and stay with you for a bit!

Thanks, sweetie, for the visit this morning!

Hey Dizzy...
Would be right up your alley then! Sure would make a good studio for mama and her crafts, right?

Just a little something to consider!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Big Bad Sis...
I see the porch swing there in the shade!

Sure would be a fun place to stay for a bit, I think!

Glad you are doing good after your surgery!

Thanks for dropping in today!

Hey Kelle...
Certainly something to keep in mind!

Heck, you are already ahead of the game bu just having one on site!

Bet the old man would be in tune with the idea! You know how guys are!

I sure appreciate the visit this morning!

Hey tffnguy...
My guess is that it would get a little warm in the summer there in the desert!

But then, what doesn't? Make a heck of a conversation piece, though!

That one for sale sounds pretty good to me!

Thanks, buddy, for coming over today!

Amazing. I wouldn't mind living there myself.

I had considered that approach, only burying all but the top "level", the rest being accessed buy a circular stairwell that followed the outer wall, with living quarters in the top floor and center of the stairwell. Living room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor. Bedrooms and bathroom on the second. The basement would be a combination food storage/fallout shelter.

I am not sure of the compression strength of the silo though. If you think about how much grain it will hold, you would think that it would be very strong.
