This one even has the experts guessing at the answers. That makes it really worthy for our consideration. Things like this make the ol' grey matter work overtime!
Disappearance of the Indus Valley Civilization
The ancient Indus Valley people, India’s oldest known civilization had a culture that stretched from Western India to Afghanistan and a populace of over 5 million. le—India’s oldest known civilization—were an impressive and apparently sanitary bronze-age bunch. The scale of their baffling and abrupt collapse rivals that of the great Mayan decline. They were a hygienically advanced culture with a highly sophisticated sewage drainage system, and immaculately constructed baths. There is to date no archaeological evidence of armies, slaves, conflicts, or other aspects of ancient societies. No one knows where this civilization went.
Makes you wonder just where these folks went and more importantly, why did they disappear! Guess t6hat's why they call it a mystery, right?
Coffee in the kitchen again this morning. There's fresh fruit on the table, so just help yourself!

When you think that millions of people lead their lives and we know almost nothing about them. We don't know where they came from and where they went. The world is full of mystery.
And that it seems there are abbrupt departures of civilizations like this in all four corners of the earth. So very much to learn and discover.
Aliens.
I wonder if anyone has done a timeline of these disappearing civilizations and made any conclusions. To me, civilization dying would be linked to food disruption.
Aw to hell with it - lets just blame George Bush! 8^)
There are civilizations all over the world that just disappear and no one knows why.Just as on Easter Island, food disruption plays a huge part. Very good Monday morning mystery!
They all moved to the North Florida and are now managers of cheap motels.
I'm going with aliens. Beam me up Scotty.
There are some good comments on this. :) I like Stephens the best.
Pass the pot please ready for a refill.
They elected Obama's great, great grandpa king!!!
Hey Sixbears...
It does seem that something besides the ruins of their buildings would be left behind.
So many things that we just don't know! I love it!
Thanks, my friend, for coming over today!

It is unsettling to say the least!

Hey Momlady...
As good a reason as any to explain the sudden departure!
Thanks, lady, for the visit this morning!
Hey Anon 6:50...
A timeline would make for some interesting studies, I think. Some kind of mass migration, maybe. But where?
Does make you wonder!
Thanks for coming by today!
Hey Linda...
Sure are a lot of mysteries in our past that we don't have the answers to. Guess we aren't as smart as we think we are, huh?
I told ya this would get the ol' brain cells working!
I sure am glad you could come over today!
