Bizarre Thursday...!

We often talk about some of the beauty of nature, but by the same token there are some truly bizarre critters out there!

This is a new one for me, I'll admit! Everyday when I'm doing research and run across something like this, it just amazes me. Looks a little like my ex mother-in-law, ya know?

Sea Pig

Sea pigs are sea creatures closely related to sea cucumbers, belonging to the kingdom Animalia. These aquatic organisms are about four inches in length, and have 10 tentacles with tub like feet that are used not for swimming, but for marching along the ocean floor. Sea pigs are bottom feeders and detect food by scent; they remove organic particles from the mud with their deflating and inflating tentacles and eat the particles trapped in their tentacles. These sea creatures obtained their name from their pink-tint and chubby body, do not fall short of idiosyncrasy.

Ya know, the more I read about this thing the more it sounds like the ex MIL! Strange, but true!

Coffee out on the patio this morning. Want some blueberry cheese cake?

The world is truly amazing!
I've never even heard of this before and it does remind somewhat of a pig :-) :-)

My dogs and I had a close encounter with a badger today :-) That was just enough with wildlife for a whole week I think :-) So I really need a cup of coffee :-)

Have a great day!

'Ya did it again, Mr. Hermit! Had to find out more info on these little critters. I never knew they existed.
You always have something good to post.
Blueberry cheesecake? I'm on my way!

Wow, this is one ugly looking creature. Reminds me of something I would see in an old science fiction movie. It does remind me of my Ex tho - you are right about that.

Whoa, Bubba - that is UGLY! Are those dark spots eyes, and what are tose things out the top of its body?? And the picture makes it look so much bigger than 4 ", guess we should be glad it's not! You just had to show this just before I head to Florida, huh? Thanks a lot!!!

Big hugs anyway ~

Thought of your blog this morning as I had my coffee and had to post some pictures.

OH MY! that is not only ugly but truely disgusting looking.

Almost lost my taste for that blueberry cheese cake, but not really. :) Don't let Pgyllis eat it all. Save me a sliver.

You crack me up! I so enjoy your blog.

Well Hermit, either I was married to your ex MIL or she was a twin. And mine was just as nasty as she was ugly. Definitely taught me to not be hanging out in any beer joint at 4 am.

Hey Phyllis...
I just like to keep you busy!

Fun finding out about these types of critters, huh?

Thanks for coming over today!

Hey Linda...
Now that you mention it, it does look like something out of a sci-fy movie!

Wonder why the exes come to mind?

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Hey Christer...
I'm glad the dogs didn't decide to challenge that badger! Would have been a fight, I think!

Thanks for coming over today!

Hey Sis...
That's what you get for going to Florida and leaving me here all alone in the big city!

Hope the hurricane doesn't follow you!

Have a great trip and thanks for coming over today!

Hey Duke...
Glad you thought of the ol' blog here, and I'll have to go check out the pics!

As always, I thank you for coming by today!

Hey JoJo...
Just keep that in mind the next time you go wading!

I don't think you have too much to worry about there in Arizona, though.

Thanks, sweetie, for dropping in today!

Hey Coffeefreek...
I am certainly glad you enjoy it here! If it makes you smile a little, that means I'm doing my job!

Many thanks for coming over today!

Hey Bob...
You know what they say about the women all getting prettier at closing time!

Been there and done that! More than once!

Thanks, buddy, for coming over today!

If your X-mother-in-law looked liked that, what did her daughter look like?

HermitJim said...

Hey Dizzy...
Let's just say that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree!

In all honesty, the ex was much prettier than the MIL! I hate to admit it, but she was a looker!

Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!

Good grief, Mr. Hermit, that is weird! I don't know if I should have seen that.

That is a very strange creature. I see one of its horns (or whatever they are) is broken off.
I just discovered your blog. I think it's great. I'll be following.

HermitJim said...

Hey JMD...
I sure hope seeing it doesn't keep you up tonight! It does look like something right out of a nightmare!

I hope you'll still join us for coffee in the mornings, even if we spook ya a little!

Thanks for the visit today!

Hey John...
Welcome aboard, my friend!

Sometimes the critters that look like they are made up are real! I couldn't make this one up if I tried!

I'm glad you found us and we'll make some room at the patio table for ya! Thanks for coming over today!

Good lord that thing is ugly. Sometimes its best not knowing what is in the ocean.
