Well, I Tried...!

I should have known better, but I did it anyway!

Like my Dad used to say "Go with your first impressions!". I really should have listened to him. So after the attempt to interact with the "real world" and the folks that live there...it's back to the Hermit ways for me.

I'm no longer going to spend my time and effort trying to understand why people act the way they do. Not my problem anymore! I will no longer make myself available to criticism and demeaning comments! Not my problem anymore! I will no longer try and serve as a guide and mentor for folks headed down the wrong paths that I have been down myself! Not my problem anymore!

Most of the people in the so-called "real world" tend to lean very heavily on the negative side, and that's bad...but it's not my problem anymore! Negative attracts negativity, as you have heard me say many times. I will not be around negative people anymore...period!

If you don't want my advice...that's fine. I wish you well! If you don't really want to hear my answers, then don't ask the questions! That's fine. I wish you well! If you really aren't interested in making things better around you...that's fine. I wish you well!

I'm going to stick to my friends in the virtual world, as they seem to have a much more realistic view of what's going on than many in the "real world". I'm sticking to a community where common courtesy and respect is commonplace. I'm sticking to a community that is not afraid to say "Thank you" and mean it. I'm sticking with a community that is not above offering to help if needed, and will do so without being asked.

From this moment on, as far as the "real world" is concerned, I am back to being a Hermit! Best for me, best for the folks that want to live in this madness called the "real world!!

That doesn't work for me...but if it works for others...fine. I wish you well! In the end, it's NOT my problem anymore!

Now, to my friends in the better world...let's get some fresh coffee and sit on the patio for a bit. I could use a good dose of quiet time with people that really do know the important things in life!! Know what I mean ?

Morning Jim,
My Dad used to say "Don't sing to the mule". Wasn't till I was older that I understood. Don't let it get ya down. Some people don't want help.
I just made a fresh pot, are ya ready?

I've found the "real world" to be the same way.....I so love gardening, I work hard on my garden. All I get is cracks about how much time I spend in there. So what? Am I bothering anyone? No,but they feel the need to constantly make negative comments. So, I found a wonderful group online that shares my passion. To thine own self be true...
Thanks Jim for saying what so many of us feel.

Real World? What is that? Everything in California is surreal, every day, and every night.

I'm sorry to see the disease has spread to your realm, Jim.

I have a suggestion for a bumpersticker:

Insanity: It isn't just for city slickers anymore!

Thank you Jim.

You Go Jim, The real world only drives us crazy. Like minded folks always make me feel better. At a recent gun show I felt relaxed, and in my environment surrounded by dozens of like minded people. There was even a conversation about how nice it was to be with folks like ourselves, free to discuss anything without ridicule and LOOKS. I only wish there was more time like that. This forum keeps me sane and folks like you are the reason. Thank you Jim for just being you.

Some of the very best people I've ever met in person were in my virtual world first. I find them to be even better in person. It's nice to have a world where you don't have to explain yourself. :D

Good morning Mr. Hermit,
I understand this post all to well.
Isn't there some way for you to go out to your new places for a few days or a week and let the wind blow off the stink of the madness. I sure wish I could too but the temps are up and I can't go to far right now because of responsibility. But by this weekend many of the folks here will be pulling out for the summer and it should be real quiet.. That might help some. Been buying some new books so I can hold up and read.
Lately feel like the red headed stepchild. But Jim we are made of better stuff and this too shall pass.
Now pass the pot my friend and lets listen to the birds and smell the flowers.

Hey OWMom...
Coffee is always a good plan, especially when shared with friends!

Thanks for dropping in, Mom!

Hey Cath...
Is it just me, or do the "crazies" seem to me increasing in numbers? Well, you can stay here next to the coffee as long as you want!

At least here, we are all crazy in the same way!

I sure do appreciate the visit this morning!

Hey YOF...
I like that saying "Don't sing to the mule" and I'm always ready for a fresh pot!

Thanks for coming by today, my brother!

Hey Sue...
Some people are just not happy unless they are tearing somebody else's playhouse up. I have a theory that one reason so many folks are negative about our passion, regardless of what it is, is they have NOTHING that they feel a true passion for.

Can you imagine? Living everyday with no passion or love for anything? That must be really sad!

Hey Sue, I'm glad to be a part of your circle...and the garden is great!

Hey Catman...
I'm afraid it's spreading like a California wildfire, my friend! The bumper sticker idea is good! I'd put it on my car in a heart beat!

Hey, thanks for the visit this morning, my friend!

Hey Phelan...
Sure is nice to see you here this morning! Pull up a chair, grab a cup, and let's talk about the homestead a bit!

Hey Mark...
Ain't it funny how just being around folks with like minds can help to put you back into a relaxed state again? Must be from all of the positive energy focused there.

Hey, thank you for the kind comments and for the visit today. Both are greatly appreciated!

Hey Melissa...
That is so true! A face to face with a former online friend allows you to see the truth as it shines out of their eyes! As with all true friends, many shared thoughts don't even have to be spoken!

Thank you so much for coming by, Melissa...I appreciate it!

Hey JoJo...
you know I'm going to be there, sharing a cup and listening to the birds with you! That's what I meant about a dose of quiet time with like minded people.

We need to meet up in the desert one day, set up casmp and enjoy the beauty of the wide open spaces and nature in Her glory!

Hey Tony...
I had a feeling that you would know what I meant. You know, talking to the trees sounds like a really good idea right now!

I'll just get another cup and join ya in spirit!

So good to see you this morning, my friend! Glad you like the coffee...!

NOT my problem anymore! I can relate to that. That's why I seldom blog anymore. Too busy doing in the real world and keeping to myself. The drama queens of the world bore me.

HermitJim said...

Hey FCH...
I'm thinking that our choice of a hermit type existance is looking better and better to others all the time!

I sure am glad you could come by this morning, my Canadian friend!

Hey Cartol...
Now don't be giving away the secret, OK? Gotta keep the price of Hennesy from going up!

Hey Hilljack44...
I spent the last of my working years in retail and I know what you mean about too masny drama queens! had a LOT, both in my fellow workers and in the general public...

I really appreciate you taking the time to come by and visit!

Stephanie in AR said...

Hey Hermit, neighbors like that make the desert look extra welcoming doesn't it? Hope you get to make your move soon.

HermitJim said...

Hey Stephanie...
Looking better and better everyday!

I figure I can spend the summer at the nephews place in the Ozarks, and the winters in the desert!

Boy, how good is that? Having two places to go , both out of the city!

Thanks for coming by, Steph

Sunfighter said...

Yea Hermit, I am still lurking around. Getting ready to head to my place in the Ozarks I told you about sometime ago, for some much needed R&R. I've been laying low lately.

Glad you're doing OK...

HermitJim said...

Hey Hilljack...
I certainly understand about the need for some r&r...even though I am retired. Think one of my readers put it best when he said that he was going out to his land in Florida and "talk to the trees"

Wish I was going with ya, my friend. Have a good journey!

Sunfighter said...

Yea, I am retired too, but need to get away from the daily grind. Retirement can be hard work ;-)

HermitJim said...

Hey Buddy...
I hear ya on that, believe me. Folks think that retirement means that you can work for them all the time! After all, what else do we have to do, right?

Yep...i's hard work sometimes, for sure!

JoJo said...

All this talk about working hard is making me tired. :) guess I need to move on out and do some errands before the crownds get there. shiver me bones to think of all those people pushing and shoving
JoJo

HermitJim said...

Hey JoJo...
Better hurry and get the chores done! After all, it's almost nap time...at least for me!

See how worthless I am? I just love it, BTW!

Have fun in the crowds, JoJo.

Gwen said...

Aw, Jim. I think it's almost time to move. That incessant noise from other people's (unwanted) opinions just helps make the transition much easier. You know what I mean?

HermitJim said...

Hey Ginger...
I know exactly what you mean! Believe me, just as soon as I can I am out of here!

I needs out of here soon, you understand? I know you do, my friend!

Hey, thanks for coming by!
