Immortal Jelly Fish...?

I think I've had this one on here before, but Let's look at it again.

This is probably one of the most studied creatures around, for obvious reasons. How long do you think it will be before they try and use it to help us live longer? Not long, I'll bet!

Immortal Jellyfish

Turritopsis NutriculaThe immortal jellyfish (turritopsis nutricula) has to be item one on this list because of the fact that it is immortal. That isn’t hyperbole – it really is immortal. After reaching sexual maturity, this jellyfish is able to reverse its aging process and become a polyp again. The ability to reverse the life cycle is probably unique in the animal kingdom, and allows the jellyfish to bypass death, rendering the Turritopsis nutricula biologically immortal. Lab tests showed that 100% of specimens reverted to the polyp stage.

I have to wonder...do we really want to live forever? I believe it's more the quality of life rather than the quantity that really matters, ya know?

Coffee in the kitchen this morning. It's chilly outside!

I have lived almost 64 years and frankly it is starting to get old already. Maybe I need a new reason to carry on? Any suggestions????

I agree with you - it is the quality of ones life not how long you live. If I am feeble and sick I don't want to live until I am 100 years old, especially if my mind goes. Very chilly outside here. Coffee in the kitchen sounds good to me. I'll bring an almond Kringle

Jelly fish are can be very pretty and then be deadly too. Yes quality is much better than quantity.

Nice warm kitchen sounds good.

Hey Rat...
I wish I had some sage advice for ya, but I don't. I don't like getting older, but it sure beats the alternative.

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Hey Linda M...
I hear ya on that, my friend!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hey Jo...
Guess jellyfish and some ladies I know fit the same mold! Pretty but deadly!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming over this morning!

Who wants to be squishy and slimy and just float around in the ocean for eternity? I don't think I do, so I wouldn't make a good immortal Jelly Fish.
