Zombies 101...For Real !

I didn't know they even taught this in school!

Guess maybe it was added to the optional classes after my time because I certainly don't remember it being offered in my day!

A class to die for: Zombies 101

BALTIMORE - Call it Zombies 101.

The University of Baltimore is offering a new class on the undead.

The course is being taught by Arnold Blumberg, the author of a book on zombie movies, "Zombiemania," and the curator of Geppi's Entertainment Museum, which focuses on American pop culture.

Students taking English 333 will watch 16 classic zombie films and read zombie comics. As an alternative to a final research paper they may write scripts or draw storyboards for their ideal zombie flicks.

The university isn't the first to have a class on the undead. Columbia College in Chicago has offered a course on Zombies in popular media for years, and at Simpson College in Iowa students spent the spring semester writing a book on "The History of the Great Zombie War."

You know, I can't decide just what is more scary...the fact that some colleges are teaching classes like this, or the fact that students can spend mommy and daddy's money to take this crap in school!

No wonder folks are getting out of college and are unable to find a job in the real world! Guess courses like "Zombies-101" don't teach students just how to put food on the table and pay the rent! Oh well, life can be a bitch, I reckon!

Now, my friends, let's get some fresh coffee and sit in the kitchen for a bit!

Hey Catman...

Reckon that the "Zombie Days" may be just around the corner!

Thanks, buddy, for coming by today!

What the hell is this World Coming to that a school of higher education would offer such classes?
And we wonder why some many other countries are turning out more engineers and technical people than we are? :-(

We can only hope this is a fad that will quickly drop out of style.

The newest game craze is Zombies v. Plants. Puhleeeeze. No wonder the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

I could write a book on my experiences with recent grads. I think the colleges are now creating Zombies, not teaching about them.

A friend of mine once said that he graduated from the best college in the world. I asked which one. His answer was "the school of hard knocks". Yep, the best one in the world.

Now that's weird as all git out. Why would a university be teach'n something like that when kids need to be learn'n something about real life?

Hey Ben...
Does make you wonder, doesn't it? Beats the hell out of me what they were thinking!

Hey, thanks for coming by today!

Hey Momlady...
Pretty damn scary, isn't it? I don't see this as being a very practical class, do you?

Man, I'm starting to think we are in trouble as far as future generations go!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Dizzy...
I have to think you're right! Hell of a course to take in college!

I have to agree about the school of hard knocks. Best teacher there is, I'm thinking!

I certainly appreciate the visit today!

Hey Billy Bob...
That's a very good question, my friend! I can't see how this course will teach them how to do anything productive...but maybe I'm wrong!

Like I said earlier, pretty damn scary!

Thanks for coming by today!

Good Morning My Special One
My thought was the same as yours about paying for this class. And what do you do when you get out of college become a grave digger?

I'm going to scare you: there is an actual college major in Turfgrass Management. And you can specialize in golf course or non golf course. Talk about a waste of money and time! That's even dumber than sports management, and I think that's a load of crap, too.

I've read many college course catalogs, with so many kids in or through college. It's frightening how much crap there is out there.

They have college classes for people wanting to get in the multi-billion dollar porno business too! Go figure! Mama, don't let your sons grow up to be chearleaders either!

Hey JoJo...
I don't know what kind of job these folks will apply for after school...and probably best if I don't!

My guess they will end up in some government job!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming by today!

Hey Marjie...
Yeah, like I really want my kid (if I had one that age) being a "grass manager"!

It's a crazy world out there! I read the other day that Tiger Woods caddy made a million dollars in 2005!

Not bad for carrying someone's clubs around!

Just when you think you've seen it all!

Thanks for coming over this morning!

Hey Fred...
Now that's a heck of a choice...study Zombies or porn!

Like I said...a really sick world!

Thanks for dropping by today, my friend!

Strange, really strange :-) :-) :-) I don´t think they would dare having a course like that over here since all education, even university education is payed by our taxes. I can imagine the raging screams that would create :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

I'm gettin' old. That's all I can say.

I think some of the graduates of this class (maybe they were living?? models) live in my neighborhood!

HermitJim said...

Hey Christer...
You would think that most people wouldn't want to pay for classes like this.

I'm surprised that the parents don't have a little anger about the choice of courses. Strange world lately!

Thanks, my friend, for coming by today!

Hey Kate...
You and me both, girl! Too much strangeness in the world!

I need some normal!

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Sis...
I reckon that some of them are residing here in this neighborhood as well!

Curiouser and curiouser...!

Thanks, Sis, for coming by today!
