Friday Travels To Colca Canyon...!

As often as I can, I find some interesting places for us to travel to. Today is no exception!

This is one more place that I've never been to and probably never get a chance to visit. Thank goodness for th3e powers of the internet and pictures!

Colca Canyon Peru

Colca canyon is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States and it still retains inhabitants who maintain their pre-Inca stepped terraces (for cultivation of food). As well as archaeological sites and cultural attractions, there are numerous spas in the area for those who want a healthy dip in subterranean water.

Beautiful place, I must admit! I wouldn't mind spending a week or two camping there. How about you?

Coffee in the kitchen this morning. It's supposed to reach the 80's today, but it's still chilly this morning.

Very pretty! Any place that has mountains is good!
Heat wave here - it's 36.
I'll borrow your stove; my hens are laying eggs like crazy - omelets for all....

TWICE as deep as the Grand Canyon - Wow! Thats a big hole alright, pretty too from the picture. I wonder if one of the map sites (Google, Bing, etc.) has maps on that?

Breath taking views. I want to go. But since you can't drive to it from here I guess I will be content with seeing the Grand Caynon, which to me is the most beautiful site.
Love to share some coffee with good friends in the kitchen.

We could make it a Hermit Jim travel tour. I would love to sign up. However, the only camping I am able to do these days is to park my car in the motel parking lot. Hahaha. Very chilly outside this morning. Have a great weekend.

Hey Phyllis...
Omelets sure sound good today!

Wow...must seem like a heat wave for sure! Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Anon 7:30...
I would think that surely they must have!

It does look pretty, doesn't it?

Thanks for coming by today!

Hey Sixbears...
I'm ready as soon as the holidays are done! Don't want to fight all the travelers!

Thanks, my friend, for dropping by today!

Hey Jo...
Believe it or not, I've never been to the Grand Canyon!

At my age, there is so much that I will never get a chance to visit!

Thanks, sweetie, for coming over today!

Hey Linda...
Now that's a catchy name for a tour!

Nothing wrong with the type of camping you describe, except for the cost! At our age, the ground isn't as comfy as it used to be!

Thanks for your visit this morning!
